New Dispatchs look great!!!!!! (1 Viewer)

.. I would post some pictures of my dioramas but can't seem to figure out how to scale down the pictures from my camera.
Just about every photo program has a resize option. There should have been one that came with your camera that has that option. I personally use Office Picture Manger that comes with MS Office or Corel Paintshop Pro that is available seperately because they have more editing options. Also, if you use Photobucket (or some competitor) for posting here (as I do), there is a built in resize option for any photo posted there.

Photobucket is free and there are some great instructions in one or more threads here on how to use it here.

It is true we all do it and males like to make jokes about it ("is Farmer Brown here?") but do we need to sink to the lowest common demoninator and bathroom humor. Using the line everybody does it is an excuse for everything. I think that we as human beings are a little better than that. Apparently not.

Brad,
Can't believe your raising such a big stink about this!:)
Your lucky Andy didn't go through with his next inovation on this figure, an imbedded sound chip like in greeting cards!

I don't think it's too funny and I think it's in extremely poor taste. Any threads, such as the one I just deleted, will be dealt with in the same way.

This is a forum that kids also visit and we do have several teenagers on here. Although I can't change what Andy has done, we don't need to propagate it here however.
Well the figure is not to my taste as an item to purchase but I am with Louis about the seeming over reaction to it. It is certainly much more natural and less gruesome than the Saracen trophy figure or those of like ilk so what is all the fuss? Teenagers and kids would hardly be shocked, offended or harmed in any fashion by comments about a pose depicting a normal daily activity; otherwise they could not be given access to the world's many fine art galleries (not to mention many public parks;)). Do we really want to suggest that images of painful death and pleasure in killing are fine but something benign like this is not?:eek:

I guess I don't get the point other than pairing it with a vehicle that some would otherwise want may be unfortunate for those in that situation but in these things, as in most of life, you have to take the good with the bad and make you own choice as to whether the compromise works for you. As to discussing it, well while I have never been a fan of bathroom humor, why not?

WOW! I really am liking the new Crusader figures, especially the Saracen mounted archer. The English knights are also welcomed sets. September could get expensive.

Yeah Mike I agree with you. Those additions make an already very appealing line closer to irresistable.;)

I think that there has been a slight change of direction over the past few months in terms of the K&C figure releases. There seems (to my eye anyway), to be an appearance of more realistic, 'action' poses that would perhaps suit the dio constructor better.

Take the latest Heer releases, the Big Red One troops and now the latest Waffen SS figures. These aren't the K&C poses of the past IMO. They are designed so that they can look around buildings, over walls etc. I for one, much prefer this type of pose.

Could I use the Scwimm figure pose? Yep. Do I think it's offensive? Nope. I'm sure my 7 year old will have a chuckle at it and then (thankfully!) leave it alone and ignore it

I'm really liking the way K&C releases are shaping out. The driver in the Schwimm looks very well done, and I too like the camo paint change on the 250.

Some definate buys from this release and not too painful a retirement announcement. I'm in the same boat as Ron re the 3 US Paras - I want them, but don't quite know where they'd end up. I suspect if I tried to suspend them from any ceiling in the house, the good lady would be adding something else to them.

Am I the only one here who doesn't see taking a crap as a big deal? Last time I checked we all do it, so I am sure they did it in combat. I think it is no more in poor taste than depicting wounded or dead soldiers, or grusome combat trophies. I also think it evidences a certain sense of humanity, not to mention a rather cheeky sense of humor.

You all take craps?:eek::confused::eek::confused:;)

Very good Ray with the use of the word "stink." I only posted twice about it and I'm done talking about the subject.

Its a shame because all the talk about the squatting guy is overshadowing how superb that half track is.Don't know if you guys agree but i think it looks like one of the best vehicles K&C have done, wonderful camo and great figures.I think this going to be a 'Get straight away job' like the crusader and ambulance.

Rob

Have to agree Rob.

We'll have to see some more picture of the 250/1 but it may be one of K&C's best to date. I hope this paint style is used more moving forward. I don't like the Schwimm due more to the colors than the squatting figure, that's a pass.

For those of you that are bemoaning the 250 release as opposed to a 251. I'm sure the 251 will appear again, hopefully in this paint :), in a future release. The 250/1 was heavily used by reconnaissance units and can be incorporated into a wide variety of scenes. I think it's an excellent choice.

the new dispatches are great!

i hope the scale wont be too vary from the earlier normandy SS releases or even the just recent normandy germans.

the 'nature calling' trooper is a bit drastic, but imagine if K&C made a pissing trooper with a hand on his privates  i could imagine the uproar!

anyway, i'm still getting the set, probably to be ambushed by the american GIs. now thats really being caught with your pants down! :D

i'm really going to be broke in September, and all this before the Chicago Show!

i gotta a strong hunch the 'secret' K&C Tiger will be revealed at the Chicago Show.

Add to this Figarti is also releasing a 'fantastic' offering at the Chicago Show.

What a great 5-6 weeks! (but not for my account balance, gotta hide the bank book from my partner) ;)

Who's that?:confused::)

Rob

Rob

It is from a 1981 Bill Murray Movies called STRIPES ! - It's an American Thing :D

The picture is of Warren Oates as "SGT. HULKA" Drill Sgt.

In the Movie - one guy called himself "Psycho" - but, his real name was "Francis" - he wanted to be taken very seriously - Sgt. Hulka said "Lighten Up - Francis.."

I just thought it fit for this occasion !
