By what criterion are you judging popularity? If you're looking at number of posts, that's more a measure of how prolific a member is at posting (and how much time he spends here at TF during the day, when he should probably be working ).
A better measure of a member's popularity might be how many posts a birthday thread for the particular member accrues, or a thread for well-wishes (viz the recent thread for KV, when he was in the hospital).
Or a little further, a good measure might be the number of responses to a given member's thread on this or that topic.
For me, I'd be leery of a poll about any member's unpopularity, unless everyone involved has a really good sense of humor, or really thick skin, or both. The potential for carrying a joke too far and hurting someone's feelings is too great.
