Have not heard any chatter about Crusaders lately? Do they always get released in Sept? What would collectors of this range like to see this time? I have liked everything released in this range so I will probably like the new releases as well. Anyone else have a wish list?

Crusaders: Archers, Infantry advancing with spears/halberds and Mounted Knights attacking.
Saracens: Firing Archers, attacking with spears, Wounded and mounted attacking with axes and scimitars.
Saracens with siege equipment.

I would love to see Peter the Hermit and a few of his followers... they would add color to any crusades diorama!

I would really like to see camel mounted Saracen cavalry. English longbowmen would be nice also. Templars - need more Templars.

I would like to see a guy with arrows or swords sticking out of him fighting off a group of Three or Four guys to the last.I say this because I think the set with the scarcen holding the Christians head up is the best set so far.Simmo

Like Mike, I'd also love to see mounted saracens on camels. Boy, would that be neat. Crusader archers would also be very welcome. I have a feeling we'll get a total surprise added with the next release, even if we get the camels and archers. A wounded or dead saracen or crusader would add realism to the mix. K&C does those so well. A pot of boiling oil, for atop the castle wall, operated by saracen soldiers would be interesting. There are so many possibilities for this line. Personally, I'm getting a bit antsey, waiting for the next Crusades release. I should add here that I've gotten a bit behind on shooting pictures of my crusades diorama, due to a heavier than expected work schedule and a death in the family, but things are getting a bit more normal around here lately, so I'll get them done and up on this site eventually.

Hello George, so nice to see you posting on the forum. I really like your pot of boiling oil idea. That would really be awesome and a much needed scenario for the defense of a walled city. Sorry to hear of your loss, hope all is well otherwise. Looking forward to seeing your pictures in the future.

Thank you, Mike. Shouldn't Black Hawk be coming out with their line of Templars soon? I expect they'll also have some Saracens among their offerings. We all had better start savings our money. I think there will soon be plenty of things to spend it on.

I first heard about the Templar line on the Michigan toy soldier site they say coming this year but there has not been update for a long time.

Well I certainly have some good news for everyone! At the Westcoaster during room trading, I was viewing Gordon's latest amazing dioramic creations while having a chat w/ Andy. Andy asked me what lines I collect, and I began w/ my favorite.....the Crusaders and Saracens. Here's the good part.....Andy said soon I could expect some new releases of this very line. He went on to elaborate more specifically......the next group of releases in this series according to the man himself are more Knights Templar!
!!! Now he didn't say when they were coming, of couse. However, one could logically deduce that at the rate the Cross and Crescent series is currently experiencing retirements, "reinforcements" should be on the way relatively soon, and when they show up, they will appear in the form of the Knights Templar! I for one am very thankful to have this to look forward to!

Perhaps Andy will introduce another mounted templar or two and some Saracens mounted on camels. I also wouldn't be surprised if we see some crusader archers with this release, since the Saracen archers have already been released and all of the crossbowmen, except one Saracen, have been retired.
