I hope we see some more Aussie sets some time, the retired sets are always popular on eBay and hard to get.

Yes I know. Did not want to mention that fact. But more important she rules the space in our house. I can't keep on filling shelves. Got to get a bigger house.

Safe for another month! I know at sometime there will be large releases in the Crusader and Real West Line. A little breather is good cut back on everything in the recession except toy soldiers wife has been very snoppy as of late!
 
Nice looking WW2 stuff! The LCA is a neat choice - there aren't many models of it but it was quite common. In fact some US units landed from British LCAs - such as the Rangers that assaulted Pont du Hoc. So here is a model with a lot of opportunities.

The Brits look sharp. I need to see which will go with my planned scene with the Churchill tank.

Great looking landing craft but since the rest of the releases are outside my collecting area and the retirements don't hurt me, it looks like a catch up month for me. -- lancer

As far as the retirements go, if you do not already have it, I highly recommend WS097.

Love that landing craft. Don't know where the heck I'm going to put it but it's one of those things that if you don't get it while you can, you might not get it later so I ordered it, and since I'm always whining about not having enough British troops I figured I better put my money where my mouth is so ordered three of the four sets. Overall, very nice job Andy.

Better save some of that ebay money I just made for July :eek:
 
D-day landing craft and troops are not on my must have list............but the new Naps look interesting....
 
Are the LCA camouflage colors accurate...white on light blue? I've been checking the websites and I see grays, blue grays, gray on light blue camo, but never in white w/ light blue camo. Can any expert shed light on the colors?

I had questions about that too and asked George and he said they were accurate. So I ordered one. It looks fantastic.
 
Any word on the landing crafts front ramp, ie. does it open and close or is it fixed open? -- lancer
 
The landing craft looks great. Good question about the ramp......it would be good if it moved.
 
This LC looks very cool indeed,and am looking forward to getting it after i've got the new figures.I have an older version of it in a flat Grey colour that K&C UK used to sell,i'm tempted to have a go at repainting it in this camo scheme.

This is an excellent Normandy release,the figures and landing craft allow for multiples and put this with more coming next month and we D Day collectors are spoilt for choice!:)

Hi Guys,

Rest assured the Royal Navy camouflage of blue/gray waves on a dirty white background are accurate.

I have seen at least 3 versions…
a) All-over mid-ocean gray
b) All-over white
And c) the one we selected

Back in the 1970’s, when I was stationed at Lympstone near Exeter, (Commando Training Centre Royal Marines) myself and some mates visited a military scrapyard in the West Country.

What a treasure trove! They had dozens of these old landing craft rusting and rotting away… They even had two beached WWII submarines lying on their sides on a little river nearby.

Apart from Naval stuff you could still see a few Churchill, Cromwell and Comet tanks and lots of WWII and post war trucks, tractors and even a few deactivated artillery pieces… What a place!

Back to our landing craft LCA… Yes the ramp can move up and down (use a small piece of blue tack to keep it up) and both Navy matelots are removable.

One final thing… go on Rob repaint the K&C UK version… I’m getting Gordon to do our UK one. If you show me yours… I’ll show you mine!!!

Will do Andy,however compared to Gordon's paint job i'm sure mine will look like it was painted by a blindfolded Chimpanzee!;).

That scrapyard sounds wonderful,all that WW2 stuff just lying around.It reminds me of an issue of 'After the Battle' in which there was a Tiger 1 still lying in a ditch in Normandy in the mid 70's!.(And to think i think i've got a result when i come back from the Somme with a clip of bullets and a handful of shrapnel!)

Maybe his reference to the tanks in the scrapyard is a hint for July:)
