Thats ok then guys.
Have just ordered some paints to have a go at repainting my old flat grey Landing craft, should be fun.I was also looking up beach obstacles last night and might have a crack at building some myself.
Rob
Rob, are you really going to paint the retired K & C LC.
Not in this lifetime Oz!
No i think i may have got some wires crossed yesterday.K&C UK used to sell(i don't think they still do)a LCA in a flat Grey colour that if memory serves was made by a company in Wales. So its not actually K&C but was sold by K&C UK.I think Andy meant Gordon was going to repaint his K&C version, but Gordon is a master painter compared to my skill as a garden fence painter!.Still i'll take before and after shots and see what you all think.
Rob
OK Mate, I don't know much about the early K & C stuff and was worried you may be painting something that other collectors would pay you a lot of money for.
Rob,
I subscribe to certain threads, which means the latest posts on those threads go straight to my email inbox. If its something/someone I'd rather not read, then its easy just to bin the message. A rather useful feature of this forum, isn't it?

I can cerainly appreciate your view, even though I don't share it. I tend to look at their figures and mostly say they are quite nice but there are others I prefer. Of course it is very good that we have different opinions; otherwise there would be less K&C figures for you and less of my preferred figures for me.you know king and country is like trophy. nobody did gloss better than trophy and nobody does matte better than king and country.

Good luck with that one mate.Hey Bill,
Hollywood is so anti Brit....oh wrong thread mate.
My position is this, i like any soldier i am buying to fit in with my K&C collection, unless i have made a decision to have something completely seperate and stand alone.(as i have done with Figarti)I think if something has real quality then it doesn't have to blend in,its quality can allow it to stand alone. This is in my view the case with Figarti,First Legion,Toy Army Workshop etc.All these companies are making me consider stand alone projects,my biggest problem is my limited defence budget.I shall have to ask the boss for a big investment in my dept...but she's not home yet!

Rob:
Thats a great idea. I'm now wondering if I should have my DD12 Landing Craft repainted. Not sure if I want to risk it though. Would be cool, no one else would have one thats for sure.
Take Care
I'm confused, which is not unusual I know, but just how many LCA models have K & C sold - including the version made by the Welsh factory that Rob mentioned.
People can of course do what they want with their own models. I just wonder if it's such a good idea to repaint the early retired models as no matter how good an artist you are they will not be original when repainted![]()
Good luck with that one mate.In our country, the defense budget is targeted for serious reduction so that we can save the planet (or was that the bankers), or so I am told.
It seems to be having a trickle down effect on the home front.
So I guess I have going to have to go out and buy some more copies of The Patriot, National Treasure and A Bridge To Far.
Oh well, they're only movies after all.
