You gotta love a Sherman! (1 Viewer)

The Shermans, Has to be one of the most enticing pieces. When I first got into the K&C collecting, I said to myself. Just one, and it has general Patton on it. So I got the general inspection. Then I thought to myself well, the "105 looks great!!, gotta have that if I get the chance. Got IT!!. Next one I saw the British sherman. And As faith would have it. Got that one, too.
You ask Maybe, is that it??. Not if find a Firefly. And if I see any Shermans on Rob's List. I AM BUYING:D

As soon as I get my Firefly, I will be able to add in one more on a photo, the Easy 8 Sherman (DD 27). We should get Louis to do a photo. He will have the five, plus the special Desert one, plus some really early ones, maybe 8 or 9 in total.

Don't forget the HB Shermans. I have discussed HB Shermans with him so I know he has at least 2 of those.

I was going to get only one of each type of armour when I started collecting. Then fell down the same hole you did. Ooo - Patton and a strictly limited edition - must have it. Then a fellow collector had an earlier K&C Sherman (DD045) as an extra so I got him to sell it to me (actually his girlfriend told him he didn't need 2 of them - I told him not to store the K&C boxes in the walk-in closet where she kept her shoes). Then K&C DD065 - the Brits needed a tank! Then Louis Badolato told me how good the HB Shermans were - so I got one. And now I am waiting for the Figarti Firefly (ordered) to arrive.

I bet there are others with the same sad story.

My first armour piece was the k&c wounded sherman, followed by the classic sherman :)

The Figarti Firefly looks to be the best so far. When I saw the close up detail of the turret, with the pitted cast metal armor and the destinct welds, with the rust and weathering, I was absolutely blown away.

There are very few items produced in this hobby that qualify as fine art:

The original K&C wood, metal and resin vehicles;
The Figarti Shock and Awe Leopold Gun;
The Honour Bound Gold Edition vehicles;
The Present Production K&C Warbirds . . .

and now the Figarti Firefly and the First Legion Stug . . . I cannot wait to see them in person. :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

I pre-ordered the Firefly from Treefrog and am #2 on their list. I wonder who managed to get in ahead of me? Can't wait for it to get here.

Those Shermans are terrific Rob, nice collection. I've only got the K&C Sandbag Sherman and a couple of FOV ones. From all the buzz on this forum I'm going to get my first Figarti piece, that Firefly, and am looking forward to it, it looks great. The K&C Classic Sherman is on my "buy" list. Unfortunately the K&C SL British Sherman came and went before I got into K&C collecting and I haven't had any luck on Ebay.......yet.......I'm still trying......maybe someday. Oh yeah and never stop posting your pictures or apologize for them, they never get old. Collector pictures are my absolute favourite thing about this forum. :)

Cool Sherman display Rob.

I can hear the K & C 'Inspection Sherman' saying, "do I look fat in these sandbags" :D

Wonderful collection of Shermans, Rob. Thanks for sharing! I'm hoping I receive good news tomorrow regardng my pre-orders for the Firefly, British Infantry, winter 88 and prime mover. Mandi said I was among the first five requests for reservation for all the aforementioned pieces. I hope we all get what we want! My favorite of these new Figarti items is definitely the Firefly. It just blows me away, and I have yet to see it in flesh! Awesome piece Rob and great collection. :)

Joe

PS Dispatches anyone?? :p

It's easy. Just hit the multi-quote button for each post you wish to quote and lastly hit a quote button. Then think of something nice to say :D

I have the two really early wood Shermans from 1991 ([1] one in U.S. Markings ["Ball Buster"] and [2] one in British Markings ["Scotland Forever"]), [3] the wood and metal 30 Corps British Sherman from 1996, [4] the extremely rare (10 made) winter version of the 1st Polystone Sherman [IWJ11(w)], [5] the even rarer custom made wood and metal version of the same Iwo Sherman (only 5 made), [6] the 1 of a kind 8th Army Caunter Camouflage shell damged version of the wood and metal Iwo Sherman, [7] the Easy Eight Sherman, [8] the 105mm Sherman, [9] the Special British Version of the 105mm Sherman, [10] the SL "General Inspection" Sherman, [11] the "Classic Sherman". The only K&C Sherman I don't have is the recent damaged sherman.

I also have [12] the Honour Bound Regular Production 76mm Sherman with all the Gold Edition add ons (including the foliage camouflage), and [13] the Honour Bound "Gold Edition" Snorkel Sherman with all Gold Edition add ons except the foliage.

And I also have [14] the Pipeline British Sherman.

When I receive [15] the Firefly, I can line all 15 up and take some shots. What do you think, all but two Shermans (I am missing the K&C polystone Iwo Sherman in Pacific markings and the recent K&C damaged Sherman) produced by the major manufacturers in the hobby from 1991 to the present, all in one photo shoot?
