With all the interest in the Sudan Campaigns of 1880 – 1898 on the Britains section of the forum I thought it might be an idea to start one on here.

So here goes with

Kitchener of Omdurman

TROPHY-KITCHENER-1.jpg

And

Hello Martyn,

Thanks very much for posting these great images of Kitchener and Wolseley.

Is the Trophy Set EL7 of Kitchener the old or the new version?

I think there is another Trophy set of Kitchener studying a map mounted ie: Set DSEL7B ? Dragon Crest.

There are very few Trophy sets ending with a letter B, so I seek your expert advice.

Best, Raymond.

:)

Thanks very much, Lt.

You are spot on. This is the set that I was referring to.

This is a superb figure of Kitchener with a map on the "Road to Khartoum".

The Little Legion Kitchener as posted by Randy looks great too; a commanding pose befitting of the ranking officer.

Best, Raymond.

:)

Another gem. How many Trophy figures are you adding each week to your collection and wherever did you find this wonderful cache?

Hi Randy

Glad you like them

These sets came from the London Toy Soldier Show in March and June. I tend to grab any sets that come my way if they relate to the AZW, Afghan, Egypt and The Sudan or Boer War

Hello Martyn,

Magnificent !!,

The Charge of the 21st Lancers at Omdurman, 1898.

Best, Raymond.

:)

Dear 4th Hussar,

There are 2 different sets.

The mounted Young Winston comes alone in the Trophy Limited Edition Set HS 5A.

The Trophy Dragon Crest Set DSHS 5A has both the mounted Young Winston and the Dervish warrior on foot.

Best, Raymond.

:)

Nice way to enjoy my first cup of coffee Martyn and nice seeing you playing again.....The Lt.

Martyn,
Fantastic sets! I read about this charge and it turned into a chaotic melee when the 21st came over the rise and found a couple more Ansar than thought! What hell they went through, and I mean both sides!
Mike
