They are on my "still to find" list. Can you please post the picture of yours, I remember you posted it before but it would be great if you can add it to this thread;)

Hello Martyn,

This is a picture of my 2 mounted troopers of the 21st Lancers by Trophy.

The 2 are identical, except for the colour of the horses and the length of the sword scabbards.

I am not sure whether these 2 are DS37, DS37A or DS37B as I received both without the original Trophy boxes.

For side by side comparison, I have also posted a picture of a mounted trooper of the 21st Lancers by Little Legion.

Cheers, Raymond.

:)

And did the little buggers use these to pound Khartoum and really make Chinese Gordon sweat?:D
Mike

Having been captured from Hicks Pasha on November 5th 1883 at the Battle of El Obeid I'm sure it would have been used at Khartoum;)

Hello Martyn,

Thanks very much for posting this image. "Infantry Support Weapons in the Wrong Hands"

The heat of the Sudan desert must have got to Colonel Hicks for plodding on.

To make things worse, PM Gladstone selected the wrong man in Chinese Gordon to evacuate Khartoum.

Just one question: Are the multi-coloured squares on the Dervish warriors historically correct?

Cheers, Raymond.

:)

Hi Raymond

Glad you like the figures, I believe the uniform is correct;)

Here is a newspaper report from the time with a description of the uniform

Hi Martyn,

Thanks very much for so promptly posting the link to The New York Times with the article which was originally published in The London Times on December 11, 1898.

The name of the author is not stated, but I have no reason to doubt the veracity of these 2 respected journals.

Best, Raymond.

As you can see the last figure and camel are finished in gloss

Cool Martyn !!! The camels & rider are very nice. Any reason why the two different types of paint finish??

Once again Martyn what an extreme pleasure it is opening another one of your post as you share with us a group of photos of your Trophy sets so hope you don't mind my sharing my one and only set from the Sudan Campaign. It's hand to hand set HS2 that Damian was good enough to pass on so that I could have it for which I'm very grateful of. What's headed our way next......Joe

Yeah, Martyn...Why? I like both, but glossy is my default button.:p
Mike

Thanks Mike and Scott, glad you like them.

I believe Dragon Crest gave customers the opportunity of matte or gloss, I found these 5 together and couldn't resist buying them.

Cheers

Martyn:)
