Wwii italians when ??? (1 Viewer)

At the same moment i was asking myself the same thing!!Andy in a previous post alluded to something of the kind in the next releases (if i recall was a post about Mussolini) but that was 2 or 3 months ago...i was asking too if we'll see something like Garibaldini..:)(Garibaldi's red shirts..austrians ..papal troops or troops of the 2 Sicilies..they could be great in K&C style..maybe similar to the chasseurs of the civil war..)By the way...we'll see what says Andy on the matter:)
 
Need some Itailan blackshirts, parade formations, and troops for "BATTLE OF SICILY"..

im all for the battle of sicily then moving on up to italy as my grandad took part in both campaigns as part of the 8th army i believe
 
Yes black shirts with continental grey green uniform could be great..or maybe some coastal artillery or some french tank (after the capture in 1940 by the germans many obsolete models were sold or lent to Italy that used them in Sicily)..i hope Andy will take in consideration some of these figures , that means a new range...war in Italy could be a great seller..with all the Polish troops , the Moroccan etc.etc.
 
After all, Mussolini's troops should be easy, the only weathering on the rifles is from them being dropped ;-)

Nice old joke, but old..many italian soldiers were weary of the war , but in some cases , in many cases they fought well for example at Keren http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Keren..or El Alamein..it's a sort of misconception brought by propaganda (and unfortunately believed here in Italy too)that the italian soldier was a coward, but if well led or motivated he can put up a good fight against every soldier of every nation..after all you can see the First World War ..my uncle was killed in the Sixth Battle of the Isonzo , taking Gorizia, he opened the wire for the assault and then volounteered for the "Forlorn Hope" and was the first in the enemy trench..he was bayoneted and shot and his body was never recovered so he was not a coward..he took the Silver Medal (the second most important decoration in Italy)..by the way i admit that the second world war wasn' t felt as it was "our war" and the soldiers fought with less spirit..eh eh sorriy if i became serious ... yours was a joke!!!:)

Thanks for sharing the story of your uncle's tremendous courage, battlefield success, selflessness, and deserved decoration! Wonderful story!

I don't that kind of humor really has a place here.
 
Our soldiers were not laughable (apart from some "sunday's soldiers " in the MVSN)..but great part of our weapons , vehicles, aircrafts, were ....and part of our generals were too...clowns of another era as it was in WWI.
 
There must have been millions and millions of human stories from both of those terrible world wars,it doesn't matter what country you came from as so many suffered.The main thing is that the Nazi scum were wiped away and we all enjoy relative peace today because of it.

Actually my Grandfather(on my mums side) was Italian and worked as a chef in London during the second world war.He was sent to an internment camp on the Isle of Wight,but couldn't stand being apart from my grandmother so escaped the camp and got back to London!.

Probably from him i've inherited my love of Pasta!;)
