I am posting #3 photos of K&C's Berlin 1938 LAH sets in a display on a wooden board of 28 x 20 inches representing a circa 1938 Nazi parade scene. I think I started getting this K&C series well over 10 years ago now getting the early gloss sets and the old K&C reviewing stand made of wood of one kind or other. In circa 2005 I started to convert over to the K&C 2003 and later copywrite sets that were in matte and much more realistic than the pre 2003 figures. In 2007 I decided to go all the way and sold off all the rest of my older glossy K&C LAH sets on eBay to be replaced by the new 2003 or later sets made by K&C in matte. Alas, in 2007 I ran afoul of eBay's rules about listing Nazi stuff. It seemed silly that eBay allowed for selling Nazi books, coins, etc., but not toy soldiers. In any case, I decided to keep the K&C reviewing stand and relisted on eBay just the figures avoiding any Nazi symbols being shown on photos. There were no further problems and all the foot sets of the old version Berlin 1938 LAH sets were sold. Lastly, this display is of course displayed for historical purposes only and not in anyway meant to be seen as being pro Nazi in any way!

Re: Hitler's Alpine Retreat display

Very nice. I've never seen that old reviewing stand. It looks great and is probably a good piece to keep.

Dear Terry:

Actually in 2007 I also listed on eBay the K&C Reviewing Stand and also used it as a backdrop for the assorted foot figures I was then selling from K&C's Berlin 1938 LAH range and with all those Nazi flags, etc on the stand someone at eBay "blew a fuse" and delisted all (I think 7) the sets I had up for sale then. Before I got delisted I got an E-mail from a collector in California saying to contact him privately and gave me his E-mail address in case my listing/listings got deleted. At the time I first saw his message I thought the guy must ne nuts or something. Well, the next day when I got delisted by eBay I realized that the man from California who contacted me was not nuts. After getting delisted by eBay I figured that it would be hard to sell the Nazi Reveiwing Stand + I decided it would be just as nice as K&C's new backdrop buildings in the long run.

Gary,

Doesn't that reviewing stand go with the Axis Leaders set? Do you have that?

Dear "Jazzeum":

As I recall I got this NAZI Reviewing stand in circa 1996 at the OTS Show near Chicago. It did not come with any other items. I think I purchased it in one of the hotel rooms the day before the Sunday show. I am not sure if it was in K&C's room or another room of another dealer.

Lovely display. I have one of these also and, although done very crudely its a greta piece and although I do not use it with the new sets its held its own with all the early sets of LAH I have. You can see why its one of the best selling ranges

I don't collect LAH, but those black uniforms and soldier columns certainly are striking. That is a fine collection and dio you have set up there. Thanks for sharing your pics! I always enjoy actually seeing other's favorite figures and how they display them.

Just took another look at this thread. Not my thing ;) but nice display and well presented Gary.

putting aside the negatives that some feel about the series they really do allow a visually stunning display

Even though I don't collect these myself I can appreciate a colourful display thats very well laid out, nice one Gary:cool:

See, IMO thats the mature and sensible approach from a collector who we know despises the nazi's but, rather than link with head shots and gas chambers praises the asthetic nature of the figures. Well said Rob!!
Mitch

That is excellent. Are the motorcylce figures K&C also?

Walt

Dear "Walt":

First of all, thanks to all the additional comments to this post more recently.
As for your question. Yes, the SS motorcycle escort are King & Country sets as are all the sets on this "Berlin 1938 Parade" display. Last November 17, 2010 I also added K&C set LAH119 of the Walking white horse with SS drummer with two big drums.
