K&C an appreciation (1 Viewer)

Its probably not going to happen but, I would like to see Chamberlin for the very early war stuff. Waving the telegraph would do nicely.

Excellent figure, thanks for posting Raymond:)

Rob,

This was my first K&C set.....DD55 Churchill.

One of my favourites.....a very good likeness with cigar and "V for Victory" sign.

Cheers, Raymond.:)

Dear Raymond:

A most splendid photo of your K&C DD55 figure of Winston Churchill! Warning, I may ask you to post a few photos of a couple of my newer dioramas as I am still leery of trying it myself. By the way, how many other personality figures due you have now?

Best regards, Gary

Had to go run this thread down....I knew I saw it awhile back. Maybe it’s the run up to OTSN....maybe I've spent a little more time in the basement the last couple of days placing some of my new items....I don’t know but man do I enjoy K&C. Many of you have seen some of the pictures I’ve posted and know that I only collect K&C. That is NOT a knock on any other company. I think what Figarti and others do is also impressive.....it’s just that I found K&C first and since I have a limited budget decided to stick exclusively with them because of the quality of the product and the quality of the people. I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone in a month at OTSN......I don’t go anymore for buying....I go for the people. I love seeing all the new stuff and all the wonderful displays but spending a couple days hanging out with friends and talking about our hobby is the real draw for me. K&C is the bomb in my book. I sometimes think how difficult it must be for Andy and crew to produce all the different ranges and items that they do. To constantly come up with new and innovative approaches and takes on different and sometimes the same subjects. I have 6 different Tigers.....and I think yeah I could use a 7th! And I know I will get another someday because K&C will think of another way with a good story to produce another. Andy usually only replies to the criticisms that are posted on the forum because I know he sees K&C as his baby.....and nobody likes when your baby is attacked. I don’t blame him....but I also hope he reads these posts as well from the people that reassure him that his baby is beautiful too! Scale, price, accuracy....blah blah blah....I look at my K&C collection with affection and revel in the joy it provides! I hope to see you ALL in Sept at OTSN!

Excellent post, and its just what I was thinking of when I started the thread, fans of K&C sharing just why they are No1 for them, great stuff.

Brian,
Great to see you taking some time to play with the troops down in your basement. Seeing the mix of old and new K&C is always a treat. The scenes were great, but I think it is time to go all out and set-up a new scene with the entire old Normandy Village :D That should keep you busy till Chicago, though the wife may not like it or maybe - how long have you been married now?:p See you soon. All the best, Lawrence

We have the church facade so, lets hope we get a whole new village done the K&C way so everyone has the chance to build great dio's like these
Mitch

Would love to see something like a ruined farmhouse or shop front, hopefully the Church will be just the start:cool:

I started collecting when King & Country released their Crusades line. Before that, I didn't even know the hobby of collecting military miniatures was so huge today. As a child I had the Marx castle and knights, which I loved. One evening, when I was feeling rather nostalgic, I started googling the internet, looking for an old Marx castle and knights. I came across the first release of the Crusades line by King & Country. This was the incredibly realistic adult version of what I had loved as a child and I was immediately hooked. I had to wait until the first releases were available and then placed my first order of a few Crusader figures. They were spectacular and the rest is history. I've been collecting at least one of pretty much everything in the Crusades line, as it becomes available. Ever since my first few K&C figures arrived, I've been working on a large diorama, with the JG walled city/castle and now many of the K&C desert village buildings have also been added. The mosque with minneret will be added as soon as it becomes available. This new hobby is giving me a great amount of enjoyment. THANK YOU KING & COUNTRY!

Anybody notice that the new ruined church facade by KC looks a lot like the ruined church in SPR or am I late to the meeting on this?

Really? No one has noticed this? -- Al

It could be seen as similar I guess, the SPR Church is darker of course. I hope we get more of these WW2 ruined structures, they are perfect for some great dio's.

I was just thinking that the destruction pattern seemed similar. Obviously there is no steeple. Just looked like the same architect may have worked on them.:D;) -- Al
