Excuse Me Gentlemen - can we get back to the theme of the thread......

NAPOLEON and FRENCH WORLD DOMINATION !

But its not going to happen Ron,hey unless you move to Europe and declare a new French republic!.Ah but then you'd have to march on Russia and we all know what happens to people who try that !

Vive Napoleon but Vive Wellington a little bit more!

My Good English Friend - I am glad you asked.

I think we are a place in the Napoleonic Range to introduce LINE TROOPS from another Country. Like Prussia, Russia, Austria ...etc. This would give displayers more to work with and expand the collection. Also it should be the SINGLE FIGURES - which cost $25 USD each - that makes it easier for everyone to start up with or buy many, many muliples of - like Standing at attention figures, firing figures...ect.

Ron

Napoleon on St Helena?

No forget i said that. Bad James. Very bad. Go to the back of the forum. :)

Yep they are good ideas indeed.I would like some Nap inf in singles, makes it much easier to build lines squares etc.I understand some of the ACW/WW1 stuff will be singles.I would also like to see Russian/Austrian troops, who knows what Andy has up his sleeve for the coming years.

Yeah sure, food riots, guillotinings, deaths from common diseases, rats, the truly unbathed, child labor practices, mass poverty and early death. Yes, let us bring back the good oldie days:p  :D :D
If this thread had a sound track, you would now be hearing a drum roll - like "shave and haircut; two bits"

Well if i start collecting Naps i might be facing mass poverty and early death!!

Rob

Ron, you are starting to remind me of the Brain. You know "Plan to take over the world"

Is there anything else????

OK ,so Ron, why do you think Napoleon was great. The advancement from artillery to Emperor? The deaths of millions? Playing devils advocate here. Besides the Napoleonic Code, the basis of our judicial system, and the ability for the common man to advance through his ability rather than birth., what makes him so great?

Glad you asked.

He is the first General to actually change warfare. All before him from the Ancients to French Revolution - did not change the way warfare was conducted. Napoleon did - he revolutionized warfare with the use of Artillery and reforming the French Military into a modern fighting force like one had seen before. Alexander the Great and Ceasar all had made their mark in their period of time - Napoleon join them.

Napoleon - was a genius - pure and simple.

Not saying there weren't other Generals & Leaders in that time who were great (Wellington being one) - but, not to the level of changing history.

It has been said before on this forum - there is a reason why we call it the Napoleonic Period.

Ron

I've wondered why Ron is such a fan and here he has given a concise and fair reason. He makes a very good point about the Napoleonic era whilst also stating that Wellington was a great general. Now this is good to see, people stating their case and not condemming everyone else as useless. You know what we have here don't you...REASONED DEBATE!!!!!(bells ringing, people cheering etc)
