Morning,I dont think the rarity of this figure was affected by our closing down.All dealers standing orders were cleared,but the anticipated rush didnt happen,if the release was around the time of one of the premier model shows we would have done better sales wise.
Another standart bearer did really badly in the quantity sold,it was a simple figure and flag ,but I thought it was attractive and a trifle unusual WA2CV Officer and Standard of the Regiments of the United Provinces,This was an amalgamation the Belgian Legion and the regular Dutch Army.Does anyone have one ,I have apicture in the archives if required.

Hi Tommy,I think the rarest Trophy figure woud be a special commission that we did for a client in Arizona it was to celebrate his mothers 100 birthday,a 1926 "flapper" lady carrying an American and a Germam City flag,we made just one,not even a painting master was produced and the mould was destroyed.I very much doubt if it will ever come up for sale.REGARDS Len

I think we all feel quite "safe" in this department because chances of it happening are close to zero based on what has been done by MM for Trophys in last 6 years

Hi Len: This is the one. I remember speaking with your client Charles last year and he told me the story about the special set. You are correct in that he will not part with it.

you know damien, i think those gettysburg sets have also been languishing because of the pink faces, if they were done in the new style i would have been a player on them although i do think the price is lets say a little exagerated.

Martin, no offense and none to Ken. But to me, if they are not made by Len, they are NOT Trophy. Sorry guys to sound like a pain in the rump, but there is and was only 1 Trophy Miniature of Wales. I have seen way too many people over the years who buy the moulds and it never equals the originals.

Additionally, I will be old and gray before the first "new" Trophy set is ever produced. Finally, if they are reproduced in Matte, that should be a capital offense (and I do like matte figures, just NOT Trophy).

Just my 2 unsolicited cents here. Not trying to be argumentative, but I am vocal on this subject, although, I am sure there are a few others on here who feel this way. Trophy Miniatures are just plain special and I hope they remain that way.

I am not a Trophy collector anymore, having (with a few exceptions) passed along my collection to my friends for the most part to make room to display my K&C, Heco Tinplate Models, Figarti and Honour Bound collections. However, I would love to find one of the beautiful Trophy WWI Trucks at a reasonable (not crazy ebay) price to display with my Heco Tinplate, Tommy Atkins and Toy Army Workshop WWI vehicles.

I can see your point...honestly: deep inside, I do not need a new Trophy line from MM, I just feel sad that nobody took over the production when Len retired, they could use him as "idea generator" and adviser. I understand about other MM obligations for its own projects, but if you can not continue making Trophy line: let do it somebody who can....I agree with Tom: it will be always only one Trophy company founded by Len...no offense but new line will never have a charm and creativity of original one: just more regiments of Trophy clones from original molds... besides it could be too late already for a new line of Trophys , Mike Norris (LL) is doing an excellent job feeling this niche I can only imagine what he would have done if he got Trophy molds.

Al, KUDOS, hit nail on proverbial head. If Mike Norris had the moulds, Trophy would have never stopped. His LL is EXCELLENT. And I am quite sure he could have carried on the Trophy tradition in high standard and quality. What a shame he didn't get them.

Again, after I saw the "matte" WW1 Bus that was produced by MM......thanks but no thanks.

As for Britains, I do collect Britains and their evolution is completely different. They have modern and vintage available, different story to me!

Hi Everyone: I think the three most wanted sets in terms of collectability and rarity are (1) Arab Dhow (2) the "Victoria" and(3) the Boxer Chinese Imperial 12lb Gun Battery(BS18). I have never seen no. (3). What do you think?

For me, the three most collectable and rare are the three missing in your own personal collection

So, for me, 1 - the Complete Peking Wall/Gate, 2 - the Victoria, and 3 - the Dhow. List is subject to change depending on what you and Martyn post from your collections
