this could be the new release for the Kriegsmarine, haven't had a release for them for awhile ???

Arado Ar 196

The Ar 196 was a shipboard reconnaissance aircraft built by the German firm Arado starting in 1936. The next year it was selected as the winner of a design contest, and became the standard aircraft of the Kriegsmarine throughout World War II.

I built this kit as a kid and still love it. If built I am in. Simmo.:salute::

Would work very well with the already released Famo winching it out of a dock diorama

Goegeous aircraft and I have always liked floatplanes, but this would be pretty big. Would be a cool model to do, though. -- Al

This would be a nice model built and properly painted/weathered......But it would not look good in polystone I'm afraid....I might consider a 1:35 scale kit for this one....Does Dragon or Tamiya have this available as a kit build?

Have K&C not already done versions of this aircraft before in their warbird range??
Mitch

Don't know about Tamiya but, I know Revell do a 1/32nd scale version which has superb detail engine detail is very good and the cockpit detail is very good and £24.99. Just seen Vezzolf has posted this also

Revell makes this kit as a 1:32 scale.....a good project for someone who can build models

Ok Mitch, How much $ for you to build me one:wink2::wink2:

Yes. K&C did it in mohagony twice, back in 1993, and again a couple of years ago. I have the more recent version, and it is really well done.

Vezzolf...

I would do one for a great price (as all my repaints builds etc are) the only issue is the type of aircraft and medium makes it fraught with danger posting as far as the US.

It may be as easy for you to get one of your US compatriots to make you one near your home

Revell make one in 1/32 scale

Just had a look at the previous releases of the Arado and have to say it would be very nice to see one done in the current range of aircraft releases. Don't see a huge problem in making one in polystone etc would indeed enhance the Kriegsmarine range
