Dispatches are up!! (1 Viewer)

The Waffen-SS grenadier with the Sturmgewehr will go nicely with Market Garden and/or Bulge collections. Similarly "the Inpecting Officer" (as other have observed he's an army general not SS) will go well, either accompanying Rommel in Normandy or Manteufel in the Bulge. I am also very impressed by the modelling and detailing of the MG42 in featured in the set of the HJ being trained by the Luftwaffe officer.

Yep, A lot of retired items. Think too long on these and think wrong....They will be GONE .........

I don't understand why 2 of the desert buildings are already being retired, especially the wall since K&C has such a wide variety of desert subjects that these can be used for.

That is indeed a big surprise ^&confuse
If I recall it correctly, the wall section was released only one year ago in March 2010 and the tower in November 2009.
Those two retirements came really quick.
I hope that the various buildings of the Desert Village will be around for some time longer.

I agree, the SS Grenadier and the Inspecting Officer are going into my Bulge collection.

Poor month for releases. I collect WW2 as well as Napoleonic and Medieval Warriors, but there is little for me, possibly 3 or 4.

Nothing for me this month, however the Fall of Berlin stuff continues to impress, especially the machine gun instruction figures.

yep the only one perhaps for me is the SS halt trooper. Broke for the next couple of months anyway with SOTE & NAP/EGYPT ordered, the last thing I needed would be desert/Normandy buildings which I would have to have. Looking at the retirements I am so glad I am update in all my K&C series, would hate to miss out on a piece. I find it costly and time consuming to chase rare items. Cheers, Robin.

Well done K+C on another great MONTHLY dispatch the AK+LUFTWAFFE VW are awesome and the US ground forces and of course the Germans all look good to me.The Alamo figures even tho not my flavour beer still look great well done cheers................:salute::

Well the hammer finally fell, for the first time in a long while we've got a large number of retirements. Definitely a few pieces in there that I'll have to consider picking up ASAP. With all the U.S. D-Day retirments I'm sure the way is being paved for new D-Day Americans this summer.
As for the new releases it seems like a light month to me. No real "must haves" but some nice and interesting releases from the Alamo and late war Germans. As a long suffering BALTIMORE ORIOLES fan I'm disgusted, apalled and outraged by the new USAAF pieces. I find their baseball caps offensive! Yankees and Red Sox's ahhhhhhhh. Still looking forward to the RAF Fuel truck in the not to distant future.

HHurraayy!! Our Orioles won on opening day!!...Sammy

You can't argue with the K&C strategy of smaller production runs and faster retirements. It's tough out there and I've been putting off purchasing a few of the retired pieces but will need to get an order in soon.

Disappointed that the WW1 warbirds weren't this month though. Or the RAFG Fuel Bowser..............

As a WWII collector I may say that this was a great addition to the Fall of the Reich panzerfaust volksstrum and HJ, and a total surprise with the WV Beetle, which I think will sell fast and is a clever move because it is easier, faster and cheaper to produce generating a bigger relative margin. Reading Andy's note of this dispatch, I agree with those who expect the retirements to increase. Anyway, small or big runs and retirements, the bottom line remains the same: nobody does it better than K&C!

It's about time somebody started covering the VW. There are so many fascinating variations of it too. I hope K&C starts on the other variations. From coal burners to the open top and softer versions to the staff cars.

Very cool. I'm surprised nobody has done them except in 1:43rd scale.

I wonder if they had to get licensing to do them.

Tamiya et al have all done them in 1/35th scale and I believe there are some in 1/48th but, I just cannot see variants like you suggest being popular enough to do. These 1/30th sets are never going to be as detailed as the kits etc to show the details you want
