Does anyone know/think May will be another month of many retirements? I'm a bit concerned the massive retirements of larger boxed items will continue.

I would have to guess there will be quite a few retirements. That seems to be the plan.

Have to agree with Terry. I think there will be a steady flow until they clean out the stock they want to clean out, to get inventory to manageable levels.

I've got a feeling the Kursk Tiger will go soon, which means I'll have to pick it up.

would the Konigstiger not be on the cards for the chop before Kursk tiger. Its an old model now???

Quiet Possibe....we will see more retirements of larger items...but for every item retired I think we will see some replacements either by K/C or another manufacturer in some form or another...CS seems to be producing quite a few iconic WWII subjects especially in regards to the King Tiger.... and at a decent price point....The new 88mm Gun also looks pretty good.

Sorry to pour cold water, but are they REALLY of similar quality, I don't see it myself, whilst they have released some good items I wouldn't place them in same bracket. Just because its released doesn't mean its a replacement, all depends on your standards of acceptance . (also its best not ra ra CS on here, thats what the CS area is for)

Cheers

There are IMO some fairly significant difference between the manufacturers of AFVs that appeal/don't appeal to different collectors. It's pretty subjective to say one is better than the rest because better is defined by the individual. I find that even within the AFVs of a single manufacturer, some pieces are better than others i.e. some AFV models appeal to me more than others.

So I take blanket statements for what they are worth - nothing.

That the replacements will be identical or as good/better than the retired item. We don't know that even within one manufacturer let alone between manufacturers. Besides, how many retired items have been replaced? By that I mean an item is retired and another producer (or even the same one) jumps in to fill the gap. Not many I think. Go down the list of K&C retirements of AFVs and see how few of the same model have been replaced by K&C or anyone else.

Spot on, very few indeed.

Simply put: We have no control over retirements by K/C ...I think it would be a mistake for them to retired the King Tiger....I do not collect CS but they have been providing a product that is at least compatible with K/C in size and style for those guys who may miss out on a K/C retired item....Whatever is being retired it will eventualy need to be replaced either by K/C or by someone....I don't think that we will see the last of 1:30 scale King Tiger Tanks either by K/C or another manufacturer...PS....I would rate K/C's King Tiger slightly better that the CS product....but the CS product is not all that bad....
