Recently On E-Bay I sold a King&Country RTA034 Remember the Alamo set. My listing clearly stated that it was for only the 2 Mexican soldiers and the "Bowie figure was not included" spelled out plain as day. Now after the buyer paid for the item he states he only wants a complete set. Am I liable here ????? {sm2}

If your listing was clear, I don't think you should have anything to worry about.

Consider the buyer may be dyslexic...I had to look the word up, so I guess I'm a little bit myself:tongue: If you don't read past the first two lines in the item description you might overlook the important notes. I have zero insight on pricing/value for two soldiers from this RTA line but it seems high and odd that there was even another bidder willing to go over $150 for the two figures alone...how much does this set usually average when complete?

If you posted the description clearly then no you are not liable. His fault for not reading the ad correctly. Send him a email with a copy of the ad text pasted into it and let it stand at that IMO.

Original retail was $89.00. Retired last year. Even in the listing title it stated 2 Mexican soldiers from the RTA034 set with a big, bold NO BOWIE included in the item description in LARGE PRINT !!! Some people never cease to amaze me !!!{sm2}

Maybe next time you should try:

THERE IS NO FIGURE OF JAMES BOWIE INCLUDED IN THIS EBAY LISTING, AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU ARE TOO LAZY TO READ THIS

I can one better this one.

Sold a rare Alymer Chiang Kai Shek figure, only rare b/c it was not a big seller and few produced. Sold for $44.99, retail was about $20. Buyer paid for and received in 3 days to Maryland to California. Week later, email says I want my money back b/c it doesn't look like Chiang. How much BS is that? Am I Alymer's painter or sculpter?

I very nicely explain that all sales final, item as described, arrived promptly and safely and no issues, he agrees, still threatens he wants money back. I finally tell him that extorting return via negative feedback is against ebay policy. I do all of this in a very nice manner. What does he do, leaves negative feedback and bad ratings. I inform ebay, give all emails (which were on ebay anyhow). What do they do? NOTHING at all.

SO, bottom line, now a seller is not only responsible for being a good seller, but you have to make sure that a buyer has no remorse, their personal opinions, etc. What a joke and the guy is a complete jerk. I would pay good money to "bump" into this gentleman one day.

Basically, the world is full of idiots.

he best one I saw...was for an auction for an "empty box" that a rare toy came in...

the auction clearly stated that it was just for the "empty box"...

it clearly stated that there was no toy inside the empty box...it was just the empty box...

the guy that bought it left a feedback in the negative category that said something like...

"Ripoff...don't buy from this guy...the box was empty...I want my money back"...

can't make this stuff up...

This was worth a good laugh.....Thanks !!! {bravo}}

My experience is Ebay ALWAYS side with the buyer, even if the buyer is totally wrong.

How about...

"THIS SET IS INCOMPLETE...DUMMY'S NOT ALLOWED TO BID"

This way when you speak with eBay you can simply say the ad said no "dummy's"

there's a k&c collector in france who would buy sets from me on ebay but always failed to read the descriptions. so I sold him a few sets which had paint chips and a pharoahs chariot which had arrived damaged from k&c. now, you guys all know my descriptions, how accurate they are and backed up by the largest photos I can fit on ebay.

so this guy would receive these sets berating me about this or that. all i did was tell him that if he had read the descriptions and looked at the photos then he would have known. so he remedied this by asking my all the questions i had already answered in the description and finally stopped buying from me when I told him to either read my descriptions or do not buy from me.

I also sold a roman k&c figure to a buyer in Brazil or Argentina. The figure had some paint damage to the cornicen. all was photographed and described. he left me a positive that said "item not as described" and left me poor DSR's. I contacted him rather irately, copied and pasted the item description and asked that he change his ratings and feedback. He apologized but didn't think enough of his error to make the correction. that was very disappointing.

I had another buyer from Canada (and I've a lot of problems with Canadian buyers) who requested Priority shipping and then left a neutral "i could fit 10 of these in the box you sent". I contacted him and let him know the box had to be that size to accommodate the shipping labels and to please change the feedback. He told me to "eff off". so I am going to buy something from him pretty soon and return that favor.

yet another K&C buyer (this one Canadian and a member on this forum) got angry at me because the WS43 he bought had a "dirtier" box than what was shown in the photos and that clearly I had switched boxes to cheat him. He also said that the figures were not in their original packaging because they were wrapped in toilet paper "the kind you wipe your butt with" (which was the original tissue used by K&C). That guy was very special to me and will always be. Talking with this idiot is like banging your against a wall, breaking through the plaster, cracking the slats and going right up against the joists. He was that much fun. I still have the message he left for me. If you'd like to listen to it, I'll dig the link out. I had posted it here on the forum which sent the mods into a tailspin because he threatened to sue or some such nonesense.

I've got more of these experiences too but these are the ones which really stand out.

And if you think ebay gives two craps about a seller thinking a feedback isn't fair then you've a little surprise coming your way.

Gid,
The old saying, you just can't make this up. I still want to know who the forum member is who threatened to sue, pm me!!!!!!!

Well the buyer in this scenario should be getting his items today or tomorrow. I am sure there will be a follow up to add here. I'll just call it: E-Bay Buyer Bonanza Act Like an Irresponsible Buyer....Part II {sm3}

If I had filed a non payment claim, then the guy pays, can he still leave negative feedback or does fileing the claim void him of leaving bad feedback. I thought I had read that somewhere.
Guy does not pay, not answer my emails relative to payment, after 7 days I file non payment claim. He pays, two days later he is asking where his item is.
I wanted to tell him where to put it, but that would have made matters worse!
As sellers we are screwed.
