Here a P-47 pilot (AF002) poses for the camera.

I was just messing around with photos tonight and thought I'd see how one of my favorite K&C figures (AF002) looked alondside of this 1/32 scale 21st Century P-47D. Even though there is a scale difference, it's not too noticable since the P-47 was such a large fighter.

Ooops. I meant to post the overhead picture with the pilot next to the plane.

One more photo. I think this one hides the scale difference a little better making the pilot not look as tall against the plane as in the other photo.

Wow Duke, nice airplane. very original markings

Thanks felllas for the comments. I did some weathering to the plane myself to make it look a little more authentic. I just read on another thread Andy's take on why 21st Century went out of business. Very interesting. It's a shame they went out of business as they made some terrific WWII aircraft. I'm glad I bought up some before they went out (and am still buying a few on ebay that I missed the first time).

Wow Duke

This one knocked my socks off!

I wish 21st Century were still making planes.

Nice pics. I really like that USAAF series. I'm hoping K&C will make a U.S. warbird that has aluminum colour with some splashes of bright colour like many you have shown the forum from your collection. If K&C do I'll definitely be picking up the associated USAAF ground personnel. I've been holding off purchasing a Corgi, Hobbymaster or Forces of Valor plane etc with just this hope in mind.

Thanks again guys for the comments, much appreciated.:smile2:

Thanks Randy. Coming from one of the masters of the one shot dio photo maker, and a fellow WWII USAAF fan (if I remember correctly) that means a lot.:)

You can still find some of these planes on ebay. I bought this particular one several years ago at the store for $15, but this version still shows up on ebay some and usually sells for around $40 to $50 plus shipping. It looks great right out of the box, all I did to this one was some weathering mainly along the panel lines, and drilled out the machine guns as they were solid.
