Look at all the stuff they threw into the war. ej they re-used and adapted all the stuff left behind by defeated armies ( Beute Panzer)They adapted their fighting vehicles to changing circumstances all the time , while the allies relied on mass production of standard models.They invented a lot of new weapons ( rockets, sturmgewehr, jet engine, etc...) and they were good soldiers.

The bad guys are always more fascinating. Look at the gangsters Capone, Dillinger, Bonnie and Clyde. No one makes movies about the police officers who chased them around. Whether that's a healthy sign is another question.

Trying to conquer the world always proves a topic of fascination. The problem is that it's usually difficult in any one despot's llifetime, so they usually bite off more than they can chew. Which leads to their undoing...and is equally as fascinating, as well as the monday morning quarterbacking which ensues.

This is it in a nutshell. You can dress it up and look for the negatives and the psychological reasons!!!! but, a Tiger or Konigstiger looks better than a sherman or crocodile and, LAH parade troops look better than any allied parade figures. Its all down to asthetics

Case in point being WW1. There the Germans had their equivalent grey look to the Allies...a bland mass industrialized look, and nobody has ever paid much attention to them.

Yes the Germans had cooler stuff.......And I have a lot of it......But just out of principal you have to buy Allied stuff so the manufacturers will keep making it.


And if you are creative Allied stuff can be cool also.......Does this look so bad

it's outstanding. I don't buy into the bad guys theory too much. The Japanese were orders of magnitude worse than Germans, and nobody wants them, unless they are casualties.

No other army in WWII had so many variants in camo, uniforms and (in my opinion) vehicles (with camo variants of their own). Makes for fun 'mix and match' possibilities.
