Thanks Guys ! No doubt I added the Spitfire to my collection as it truly is a legendary allied aircraft. Also was able to improve my photo techniques for this series of
pics. Finally able to enlarge the size of the photos and have them post to the forum, which was an issue in the past !

Nice pics PA, what a superb aircraft , unmatched in fame and adoration{bravo}} Not to belittle the P51 or FW190 that were both superb fighters, but the Spit somehow sums up that whole summer of 1940, the spirit, the defiance and victory. Even today when you see one go overhead the sound of that engine is so evocative. Its not the most famous fighter of all time without reason :salute::

Thanks All......That last pic almost gives the impression of flying next to him as he glances over and gives that smile of pride and approval.

Love this thread. Great pictures of a fantastic subject - both the aircraft and its Kiwi pilot.

Seriously, though, is there ANYTHING more beautiful than a Spitfire? ^&grin

Jennifer Aniston, sat in a Spitfire:wink2:^&grin

Beautiful aircraft, there were some superb fighters in WW2, P-51, FW190, etc, but they didn't have the grace and sleek lines of the Spit did they, wonderful design.
