I keep telling myself the line is not just resting its hibernating for a long while. :( It will return, it just has too! :redface2:

I think its impossible to run out of ideas. If that is the real reason for stopping this series I'm very disappointed to say the least. Keith

alot they could still do, especially on the german side with all the conglomerated combat units they put together. school units, sea battalions and such. lets hope andy would revisit the range for a few pieces a year

If my Australian friends will forgive me if I'm wrong . I think Andy said no Brit paras planned but never say never again.

I agree with you that it would be impossible to run out of ideas, but based on the Brisbane talk - which is, admittedly, the only one I have ever been to - this played no part in the decision. Again, however, Andy's response was a three minute discussion in the middle of a ninety minute talk so it was not necessarily a written K&C policy statement. It was my understanding based on what was said more a matter of 'been there, done that' with a touch of 'there are so many other things to do'. Andy recognised that it was a popular series but as much as anything else (this part is pure speculation on my part and was not articulated, so I may be well off the mark) I got the vibe that Andy has many interests and having done MG he was, at a personal level, more enthused by other options.

He also made the interesting point that he is often quoted as having said 'Russians (or Russian Front, my memory is shot!) do not sell'. It was one of the first things I heard when I started collecting so it has a wide currency. Andy said that his comment was that 'Russian Front does not sell as well as the West' which is a very different observation. I think people like me who mix memory, opinion and 'vibe' probably confuse more than we illuminate!

Regards

Jack

Thanks for this Jack, didn't really think it was a drought of ideas, who knows what the future holds and maybe MG will return at some point in the future. In the meantime lots of other ranges to work on!^&cool

This is shocking, MG had 4 different dispatches in like 4 years! BIG LET DOWN!

Shame as this was a really colorful range. Really nice looking troopers and priced very nicely. I sold mine off due to space reasons. Still, this has been the second generation of OMG figures I've seen so I would expect to see them come around once more.

Perhaps he wants to produce some american paras then come back around to the british?^&grin

It would seem that Brit paras are not the only ones who refuse to give in, no matter what the odds. People who collect Brit paras are just as determined.{sm4} Andy was pretty clear!

The OMG range may be finished but there's still a chance you may see some Brit Paras in the D-Day range. Crikey, I hope I haven't started anything {sm2} ^&grin

I thought he was pretty clear also. Done, dusted, finito, kaput, adios, tapos (that's Tagalog).

I doubt you will see any new MG sets within the next Five years, more like the time frame between the initial Market Garden range and the most current - whatever that was.

I'm really bummed out about this thread. :( Sure I've got most of the OMG series but its my favourite and I really thought there was still so much more to be done. I considered it to be K&C's flagship that put them on the map. To abandon it completely simply stuns me. ^&confuse I can't be consolled by focusing on other lines or the promise of a future release a long way off or even another manufacturer stepping in. :mad: A lot of members on this forum have been campaigning for various lines or specific pieces to the point where it gets quite tiresome.

So the question is...........do OMG enthusiasts surrender

or do we remain defiant in defeat and continue to campaign?

"XXX corps, XXX corps where are you, we can't hold out much longer! We need reinforcements!" {sm2}
