Arnhem Finished Andy??????? (1 Viewer)

I agree perhaps we should endeavour to petition the manufacturer that the range should not be seen as been there done that and, still has many things that need to be done before we ever get to that point. The brits lasted long on that bridge against insurmountable odds the least we can do is fight on. could be a new film though ''carry on Arnhem'' could have just seen sid james as Frost!!!

I think while its true if one believes the rumour mill that others may get into this range its scant consolation to K&C collectors as they are incompatable if you have built up this range to mix and match is not acceptable really and, to those who have collected it they have a feeling of being far from feeling complete.

surely two or three a year would not cause any effect to the production schedule and, would allow the series to expand as it needs?? It would also have been a lot less hastle than trying to make a certain aircraft (the name of which shall become akin to the scottish play!!) seems to have been!!

I'm really bummed out about this thread. :( Sure I've got most of the OMG series but its my favourite and I really thought there was still so much more to be done. I considered it to be K&C's flagship that put them on the map. To abandon it completely simply stuns me. ^&confuse I can't be consolled by focusing on other lines or the promise of a future release a long way off or even another manufacturer stepping in. A lot of members on this forum have been campaigning for various lines or specific pieces to the point where it gets quite tiresome.

So the question is...........do OMG enthusiasts surrender

or do we remain defiant in defeat and continue to campaign?

I was at the Brisbane meeting and Andy did seem to be well and truly done with this line at this time, and though he didn't say it, I have to think that part of the reason must be financial. Maybe it just hasn't been selling well enough compared to other lines?

I have posted a couple of times in this discussion concerning the end of this series suggesting that it was a 'been there, done that issue'. I did not think of the obvious as you have done - would Andy end a series that promised greater financial success than the alternatives? I suppose the further question would be whether he 'owes' it to the collectors of the earlier series (and potential future collectors) to continue it if he believes he can sell more figures in another series. Personally, I think it a big ask to expect decisions that are made on emotion rather than a business plan, but I understand people's attachment to particular ranges. Never having been it business, one of Andy's most interesting comments for me was the responsibility to one's employees to protect their jobs when making decisions. I had never thought of it that way.

well, I would ask some of the newer members to go and hunt back through the threads from past years and, look at exactly how adament Andy has been that this or that either won't be made or, won't get visited again. Thats why many comment on the never say never and similar.

Thats why for me I would not be as conclusive as some have been passing on Andy's comments as they have a tendancy to change. What a lot of collectors I have spoken with who collect this range at least 50 so far have said is they cannot believe certain characters and prominent indivuduals and items were not done. One that keeps coming up from many is why do Para's at arnhem without Frost? Thats for our australian posters like doing the ALH without horses.

I would expect as some really hold this range highly that these threads will go on ad nauseum et al for some but, on past experience and the way collectors feel Arnhem is undoubtedly going to be revisited again. When is the big question but, it will be as eggs are eggs as they say

Perhaps there is a big release planned for September and that's why Andy is keeping shtoom?^&grin

Unless that is the reason I am really astounded, it's a huge kick in the b*lls to all Arnhem collectors, this was (Andy's words) the range which kick started King and Country's fame as a great toy soldier company, and for them to cancel a range which celebrates this it's terrible, just do not understand, from feedback on this forum in the past few years everyone can see how popular Brit paras have been, certainly more than oversized over priced 'warbirds' which take up whole shelves. I have also met a good few collectors who are not on this forum who are K&C brit para mad so how can this range really be cancelled?

Thing is, Andy can't come on here and explain all the decisions he takes and why, also Arnhem is just one of very many ranges he produces, maybe if we are all a bit patient something will come along in the future:wink2:

I say one thing and nothing more.
Am disappointed in Andy's decision to stop with MG rangers:mad::mad::mad::mad:

That's a Ashame some of my favorite Fig's are Paratrooper's wether it be British, or American.
Don't understand why KC would not produce more in this Field. Operation market garden is iconic to WW2

:confused::confused::confused:

Of course it could all be Andy's cunning plan to start a rumor and create more interest :wink2:

Baldrick's my hero ^&grin

Him and flash of course Oz, ' Any chick that wants to tie herself to my railings and Suffragette movement gets my vote'! ^&grin:wink2:

Who knows what will happen with Arnhem, maybe we should keep our eyes fixed skywards:wink2:

IMO I think Andy should give the same amount of attention that he gives Battle of Buldge to the
Market Garden Range. Two Iconic battles of WW2, Iam a bit confused on why he has made his
collector's who collect ww2 scratch their head's. ^&confuse

I'm not convinced Arnhem is over and done. It may be over, but not yet done. I would not be surprised to see a few key figures and maybe a folding motorcycle as a goodbye release for the September anniversary. Sort of to complete the series. Then no more British paras. Don't forget when Andy tired of FJ's.

Yes would not be surprised Terry:wink2:

Terry...

Would like to think your right. I know what you mean about FJ's great series and then no more. It did show with the depth and number TG did that FJ's were popular (it really put TG on the map) as has been seen by the comments and elsewhere in private many are happy that the series was done but, many are not happy and still think its far from been done properly.
