Not saying it's not worth every penny... (1 Viewer)

I'm not saying this is not worth every penny...maybe it is...maybe even more...as I have no idea what these are fetching...but I think I would want to see more pictures for $28,000.00 if I were a serious buyer...

Well I am saying that it is not worth that much, they must be joking, seriously it's not worth even $500.00...a fool and his money are soon parted.....amazing...^&confuse
Wayne.

I gather your not a trecky mate...:wink2:

I agree through, i wouldn't pay that much and even if i were interested, i agree with you as well Mike and would want to see more pic's!

Tom

Have to agree!!! completely not worth it for a model kit as that's really what it is with a few signatures. Nonsense really
Mitch

I don't think its worth the price, that said, I would be interested to see what happens once one of the signatures is no longer among the living and what this brings in a full blown Christies style auction. You would be surprised at what some of this stuff brings. Amazing. Bigger toys for bigger boys as they say, this one is out of my pocketbook's reach. Now, if it were a Millennium Falcon, I may sing a different tune......!

How is this 'big' money for a model any different than paying huge prices for retired TS? Granted, it's a lot of money, way too much for the average buyer/fan, but it's not really any different than our hobby. Now, if it had the signatures of Bones and Scotty...:wink2: -- Al

Sheldon Cooper would buy it!

(Apologies if you don't watch the Big Bang Theory)

I heard that somebody paid several MILLIONS for a piece of canvas with a daubing on it of someone with a square head with wonky eyes ( a bit like an early Britains hollowcast ^&grin) - and signed by some geezer named Pablo?

ANYTHING is worth what someone else is willing to pay to own it - and then probably put it away in a vault!:D jb

Sheldon...Leonard ...Howard and Raj...would have a bidding war...

with Howard cashing in his Bar Mitzah saving's bonds to win...

I love that show...

especially Penny.

If it had Leonard Nimoy's DNA on it, Sheldon would so kill them to get it!

Wayne.

Yeah, should be snapped up like hot cakes....:rolleyes2:^&grin

Well.......To each his own I guess. Maybe if you won the lottery and were a huge Star Trek fan, but $28,000.00 would be a ton of King&Country to fill a
room up ^&cool

Back around 2003/2004 I was offering a number of Russian made Miniatures on ebay and luckily for me there was one buyer who happened to catch every single piece with his bids.
Auctions started a $0.99, but at the end I had a satisfying return on every piece.
The shipping address was on 5th Ave, New York, and I got curious, so I looked up the ebay feedback.
It happened that the Russian Miniatures (Top Quality items from Russian Vityaz or Arsenyev Studio) seemed to be just a secondary subject to look for.
His main collecting subject apparently was high priced designer watches.
From the transactions I could see in the feedback, he spent an average of $80,000.00 to a $100.000.00 a month on ebay.
So, you never know.
A fellow collector told me once, that somewhere in the world somebody will get up in the morning and log on to the web and be looking for just that item you put up for sale.
Not sure about that though :smile2: :wink2:, but you can't beat the worldwide exposure you can get on ebay with items you want to sell.
