BBG049(W) Special "SnowStug" (1 Viewer)

Value added, value added my man, as they say in the trade. Now, lookey here, is Andy call Rob and ask him to deliver a package? Of course not, but if Andy calls and says "hey, good buddy, can you look at this termination notice I'm sending to the Military Workshop" (hypothetically, of course :wink2:), well, here I am. Value added, value added ^&grin

Since you put it that way ^&grin What a bargain you are {sm4}

Had an interesting chat with someone today re this release. Is this going to come in a different box or, have something denoting it as a 149 release or not?? I said I thought it would not but, it then raises the question of people copying the stug paintwork and selling it for a huge amount on e-bay as one of the releases

We see fraud cloning on many products so, it could happen to these products. I suppose its not much of a job to replicate what is being changed. Many collectors would probably never know. Its the same with fixing items and posing them as mint easy to do if you are unwilling to take the hit on the price for a repaired (professionally or other) set
Mitch

I am guessing it will come with a normal label just saying BBG049(W) and probably a generic box.

Guess we will have to see how much the first ones go for on Ebay.

Wayne,
Actually yes they did. Not sure why you are confused.

Like most dealers I factor in a number of points when allocating limited items. First have to be a customer and then from there they go to those who are regulars who I know would collect such an item. If there are not enough then it is based on who buys the most (however there have been occasions when I have allocated something to not such a big collector but when I knew it would mean more to the other guy). With the Stug there were some who were not even aware of it but I factored them in anyway. Another factor is the reliability of the collector in buying items ordered in the past. So quite a few things can come into it. I think other dealers probably have similar ways of looking at it.

So mate tough luck for us blokes without the money hey !!
I will remember this mate when i factor in things.............................

I like limited editions. With 150 you are going to draw interest and sell out quickly. Collectors feel like they are getting something novel. However, if this is just a repainted version of some extra stock KC can't sell it's a little less special. Hopefully it doesn't become the norm.

Ordered mine through my local shop, not sure I will get one !!!!!
guy:)

I have read this string with some interest and I, like some others on here, saw this discussion as inevitable. Anytime something is produced in very limited numbers there will always be collectors that are left out. People may not like it, but as Brad said (or is this case showed) the early bird gets the worm etc. Beyond that, it seems like much of it comes down to your relationship with your K&C dealer. I also think that blaming K&C for not producing enough of something is an empty argument. They make the amounts they make and allocate them to dealers with a set price point. The dealer in-turn sells them to whomever they choose.

Hi Guys,

Wayne 556517 asks “why only 149 made?” As usual our other good friend Brad (Jazzeum) hit the nail on the proverbial head…First, we discovered we had 150 spare castings of this vehicle at our factory. Then, after some collectors suggested a “winterized” version of this Stug model I thought, “Why not.”

And so….We produced 150 “SnowStugs”….Unfortunately I dropped one while examining them and now we only have 149.

By the by….our Managing Director Helen made me pay for the one I broke…As she said at the time “You break it…You take it!

Hope this clarifies the situation and trust everyone that wants one gets one…

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Andy,

you shouldn't have mentioned it to Wayne556517 that you broke #150 !!

He will want to buy the scrap/damamge and then bring it over to my workshop for some panel beating/welding and make 'as good as new' , much like another battle damaged FLAK 41.

I've already got a couple of sets of casualties in from him on Wednesday, damaged while having thier photos taken but I could always put it in line with the other jobs.

He knows that he gets a good job, and cold beer in my workshop, so he keeps coming back........ :)

John

Obee,
Just a minor point on the "battle damaged Flak". That would be one where the deal (from me) was buy a good
one and get a damaged one included. K&C provided replacements for all damaged stock quite soon after problem was
identified. I know three of those damaged ones came up quite good and remember seeing the one you fixed for
Wayne plus two others appearing on the forum.

Brett

I don't know how good K&C did with this original Stug in sales but sounds like alot of collectors really want this winter Stug, and I can understand why, I think the painting and camo are killer, maybe should have gone with the winter version first:)...Sammy

I am unable to reserve one from my regular dealers so far.... this is a letdown :(

Sammy mate,
Hind sight is a great thing.:smile2: I have to agree with you that IMO the new repaint does look better than the first one. Most people in the world if they get a second shot at doing something do it much better the second time around. I give kudos to Andy for a very smart business decision. After all even though he is a keen collector, he is still in the business of manufacturing and selling TS for a living. Put yourself in his shoes and ask yourself, what would you have done.
Cheers Howard

In matters relating to TS I look at a band around my wrist with the letters WWHD which reminds me to ask myself when about to make a purchase "What would Howard do"?

Invariably though, that means I buy!

:)Word from my dealer, the snowstug arrived TODAY, so only a few days and its mine,my precious.
