First Legion is extremely pleased to present the highly anticipated expansion for our Battle of Normandy figure range, the Waffen-SS!! The Waffen-SS was initially created as the armed wing of the Nazi Party, but gradually over the course of the war was expanded to some 38 divisions. They fought on both the Eastern and Western front alongside the Heer Divisions of the German Army. They were typically given priority for equipment and were, at least initially, made up of the most loyal and die hard soldiers. As such they proved extremely capable in battle with the tank divisions in particular being most feared by their opposition. Created for our Battle of Normandy range, these extremely flexible toy soldiers can be used as Panzer Grenadiers from just about any Waffen-SS division including 12th SS Hitler Jugend, 1st SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler, 17th SS Gotz von Berlichingen, 2nd SS Das Reich, 9th SS Hohenstaufen, or 10th SS Frundsberg. Our inspiration was to have them as members of the 17th SS opposing the US Paratroopers at the Battle of Bloody Gulch famously depicted in the mini-series Band of Brothers, however, as you can see they can represent any of these formations. With this latest expansion of our Battle of Normandy figure range the US now have some opposition as the Waffen-SS take the field!

Well I have been looking forwward to this announcement for sometime and after taking a closer look at some of the figures we haven't seen it was more then worth the wait!!! the camo and painting on this range looks to be some of the best I have ever seen, and I really look forward to seeing these guys take up thier postions against the 101st in my new dio:)...Sammy

pretty nice pieces. Now I am really torn. First Stalingrad, then Rebs, now this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When will this madness stop :)

Absolutely the finest Waffen SS figures ever produced by the hands of factory workers :salute:::salute::. The Camo patterns are incredibly realistic , its really hard to believe how well they nailed em . I think this release will open the FL flood gates....... get em early boys they won't be around long. I think the price on the MG team is a mistake at $64.95.... but who knows .... regards Gebhard

Very nice looking figures and the camo looks really accurate. I like the guy getting ready to fling the grenade and the guy with the Panzerschrek. -- Al

Come home late from work to this wonderful news! ^&grin

These figures look great but a question? Are they the same size of the Stalingrad range or bigger like the Vietnam figures. Just interested to know . Chris.

well, apart from still laughing at the grab em while you can comment!!!! These look very nice figures and facially which many know put me off early Stalingrad releases these look much better.

Not only is the camo very nice the poses are very good and I have always liked the MG combo team but, the scoped STG trooper is a great figure

More than I anticipated in the first batch but, I am looking forward to getting these

Hi Mitch ,
I'm glad you enjoyed my get em while you can comment :wink2:. While not a tactic to increase sales or to start panic buying, I thought a little advise to fellow collectors who don't want to be left wanting later on was and is a good thing. I really do believe that there are many many collectors who have been waiting a long time for any company to produce Waffen SS figures at this level I know I have. Aeroart did I think it was three several years back and they were IMO Horrible... for me these are the best looking Waffen SS figures I have seen produced in a factory setting. I think these could well be the fastest sell out in FL history and I for one don't wanna see guys missing out . Anyway .. cheers Gebhard

I agree that these figures are the best Waffen I have ever seen....Gladly it is not in the character of First Legion to produce limited quantities/retired etc. with the "intent" of creating "panic buying". First Legion sells an excellent product and thus do not need to resort to those bush league tactics....One of the many reasons I collect First legion is that they allow "adequate time" for the collector to build nice collections. As a matter of fact Matt was very gracious to produce a few more Romans when they became a bit scarce..... That being said products do eventually sell out... some faster, some not as fast...we all understand that...manipulation of customers is another matter, gladly FL does not follow that model.........FIRST LEGION RULES:salute::

I do like this policy too. It has allowed me to slowly build up my collection. Slow but steady :)

Just pre-ordered my First Waffen SS, (NOR 22) running with machine gun, but as I was looking over the range they all look superb and it really doesn't matter which one I picked up first, can't wait to see the camo in the flesh on these guys....Sammy

Sammy, I am leaning towards the MG team as my first FL Waffen purchase.

My first thought at seeing this figures was, "Oh no, not again. I can't afford to collect another First Legion range." Stalingrad, DAK (which I have put on hold), Nap Highlanders (again on hold) and Romans. Was contemplating diving into ACW, but I think this range with the Airborne will unseat ACW and keep DAK and Naps on hold for the time being.

Love this stuff, but so much quality to choose.

The Viet Nam figures were larger than the Stalingrad figures???? If you happen to have figures from both ranges, could you please post some side by side pics? Thanks!
I just love the look of the camo on these SS figures. I like all aspects of what I see aside from the facial sculpts. They are just not on par with the rest of the figure, IMHO. They look rather soulless.

Joe...

I would take soulless than inbred!
