ALL,
Maybe you have been watching the SOHK auctions these past few weeks, but GOOD LORDY LAWD some pieces have sold for unbelievable prices. I remember when I bought my first SOHK pieces from Peter Lalos, he told me "John, you and I are probably the only ones who collect SOHK". He told me that a little over a year ago and now I am watching pieces go for over a thousand (one full stack of high society). One of the terraces just went for $1400 and change this evening. So, I am a little saddened because what used to be so fun to collect is now getting out of my hobby financial reach and not to mention frustrating!!! Yes, I know the pieces are worth what the public buys them for, but holy smokes am I bummed that I'll never get a shot at these pieces because the bar has been raised so high. Congrats to the sellers though because business is business.
Well, I thought I would just vent I guess. My "pre-divorce" sale is over and Zlang and Peter bailed me out of a few pieces, to which I thank them. But nothing on the other collections. Fortunately, I cut a deal with the wife to sell everything but SOHK....and IC...and maybe Ancient Egypt. But, sadly all of my STAR WARS,other K&C and 21st Century has to go. I know there is zero sympathy out there, but a little empathy would be nice my fellow brother and sisters. I know I shoulda, coulda, woulda, but I am just "Lost every bid on SOHK depresso boy" right now. So, to all you toy soldier collecting HIGH ROLLERS out there...nothing but RESPECT MAN! I wish I had it like that...for toy soldiers that is.
The search goes on...
