I grabbed this from Old Toy Soldier Auctions from the James A. Henderson Collection. I love this set and am so glad that I won the auction (ie. glad that Jazzeum/Brad forgot about it! ^&grin)

That's awesome looking! Congratulations, my friend. Glad you got it ^&cool

Great acquisition, one of my favorites! Now, you have the Summer version, there is a winter one out there too OR you find the winter kit (conversion that can be swapped in and out)!

Great find again
Tom

The winter version I have just comes with some Holly to hang on the side to give it a Christmas feel
Otherwise it is identical.

My figures look the same as the ones in this thread
Were there special winter figures as well for some of the sets?

Hi Damian,

When I bought mine, I first acquired an older Summer version (normal) in one of the older red boxes, older labels. Second bus I bought came in the later bright red, colorful label and it came in a big box and then secondary box had the winter conversion including figures. It is packed away right now, i will have to unearth it and photo it sometime.

I have no version :( :(

Think that was the first time I'd actually seen a good photo.

Well, that's what you get when you forget about things {eek3}

I'm not sure if this is winter or summer (or maybe a mismatched set)
There is no garland for the trolley, but one of the riders is holding a wreath and the horses have wreath like things around their necks - on the harness

That wouldn't surprise me because it seems that in this auction there were a few mismatched sets.

It is still unclear to me whether this was a special version.
It is the only one I have seen
Is there a separate summer version

The seller said the Christmas decorations came off. Would have liked to have it but not at that price.

Hi Damian

There were two Buses available a Summer version set# C90 and a Xmas version C90V. For customers who had the Xmas version and did not wish to buy another Bus there was a conversion kit available set# C90PX which allowed the customer to change from a Xmas bus to a Spring and Summer version. I will post the catalogue descriptions tomorrow

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thanks
Look forward to seeing the catalogue descriptions.

I can't say I'm overly surprised at anything Zulu, E & S, India or Boxer as that tends to draw a crowd. Other than a piece like the bus (which considering the original price is not terrible), T & C (probably my favorite range along with Crimea) is generally affordable.

What amazed me Brad was the fact that this was a very early set, all similar early AZW mounted sets that have been offered on EbayUSA have been bought for similar prices

Heaven forbid Crimea doesn't go that way.......at least not until I have found CWS7- Stretcher Party and CWS15 SF Firing line......and you have found your wants obviously ^&grin :salute::

Cheers

Martyn,

The winner of the Zulu auction was a bidder who has won before and for whom cost is not an object :wink2:
so it apparently all depended what the first bidder bid; I'm sure he was surprised to lose. On the Bus, it looked mostly like a battle between two bidders and we know how that can go.

I think the Crimea prices are actually dropping a little.

Brad
