Arrrgggh but Rob myself and Pete can muster up a pritty mean army quicker than you. And all falling that i can call on my real toy soldier friends 'the reinactors' with their tanks and hard where.

Hang on Tony doesn't Rob work at the Imperial war Museum and have access to all their tanks, artillery and aircraft? You may be outnumbered! :D

Louis

My maths was never my best subject spent to long getting my head bashed around in rugby scrums!!

Infact there is a lot more than that. K&C UK have over 4000 members alone! now i know from chatting with Pete and Shannon there is a lot of cross over of Customers who buy from us and also from them.

And trust me Louis after meeting up with you i can gurentee that you are far from being a loon compared to some!!

I think the great thing about the human species is that there are some weird and wounderful caractors.............i mean Rob Wilson never want to be in a room on my own with him!!:D

Your website has over 4,000 members! I think I have been substantially underestimating the number of K&C collectors out there. This goes a long way towards explaining the appreciation of the earlier products in the secondary market. When Andy gave me the production numbers of the polystone stuff for the book, the runs of the early polystone vehicles rarely exceeded 500, and were often only 300. If there are 4,000+ K&C collectors, there are only around 1 of these vehicles for every 9-12 collectors. And very often, the early collectors I am friendly with (like Hans Hedrich and Lawrence Lo) bought multiples for dioramas, further limiting the availability of these early sets. And that doesn't even take into consideration the pre-polystone wood, metal and resin vehicles, which were produced in runs of 15-150. I am begining to understand the supply and demand issues facing newer collectors who want one of everything.

Based on the foregoing, maybe the book numbers to be revised slightly although it's best to play it safe.

Heres how it would work James.First my Spitfire,FW190 and P51 Mustang would machine gun their infantry as they advanced on my position. Then my static defendce of Jagdpanther,88mm and 25pounder would make short work of their tanks.Backed up by any number of Panzerfausts we have. Finally my Churchill,Matilda,Sherman would roll out and finish of their wounded and escaping tank crew.

This is all without having to call in the US Air force from our museum at Duxford.

What do think of my plan James?:D

Guys

4000 members does not unfortunately equal 4000 buying customers...otherwise i will be typing this from Bermuda on my boat!

Hi Rob,

Concerning the Imperial Museum in London, still Ms Ann Carter Museum's Head of Exhibitions?

Cheers:)

Although you may have 4,000 members that doesn't necessarily mean they are all active or buy in the same quantity that someone like one Rob does. They may have purchased one item or are a constant customer.

I have made the argument before that even though the people who actively participate in this Forum may be a small minority of the actual toy collector populace, this Forum has a wide readership and reputation in the toy soldier world so you cannot necessarily discount its impact. If manufacturers thought that what they say here isn't getting disseminated, they would hardly waste their time here.

I think she thinks that anyway mate, she said to me the otherday 'I bet you have their phone number on speed dial'!.( Next to the Chinese takeaways number;)) I do tend to ring Tony/Mike as soon as the retirements are announced every month, not that i'm anal about my collecting at all!:D

Honestly, I think that's what this has become. While it may not be a true cross section of the buying public, it does at least give manufacturers some sort of feedback, for good and ill. Where else can they hear so many conversations about their products?

Or so many suggestions, even on a daily (or should I say hourly) basis :D:rolleyes::eek:

Dear Ron,

There is no need to be stressed. While TF's forum is the best one in respect of toy soldiers, it remains toy soldiers.

We are not checked by UN to find a way to save Darfour.

Pierre.
