A big part of our celebrating the forum's 10 year anniversary is to celebrate and honor our tireless moderators who volunteer their time and sacrifice just 'being a regular member, reading the posts that pertain to what or how they collect" for always keeping an eye out for issues, assisting members with their questions, zapping spammers and in general making themselves available to our members for the good and improvement of the forum.

Today I would like to present a special gift to each of our moderators dmnamiot, thebritfarmer and wadepat. Each will be receiving a Ballantynes of Walkerburn statue of a Yeoman Warder, Tower of London from their English Historical Collection.
BW8EC-01.jpg
I chose this particular statue and subject because many traits and accomplishments of these yeoman warders mirrors our mods.
"They must hold the Long Service and Good Conduct medal. They are responsible for guarding the Crown Jewels (forum :smile2:) and any prisoners of the Tower of London, but modern times have seen them become tour guides and attractions in their own right."

Our mods are rather like helpful tour guides - guiding members around the forum and answering questions.

Each statue will have a special metal plate engraved with
Keeper of the Forum
In grateful appreciation
then each moderator's full name and forum username.
These statues are in the process of being made by hand in Scotland by Ballantynes of Walkerburn and will hopefully soon be on their way to our wonderful moderators.

Thank you mods so much for all the great work you do and the time you give to the forum and its members!
You are greatly appreciated.:salute:::salute:::salute::

Re: Moderator Appreciation Day!

Hats off to these fine gentlemen who are masters at the 'behind the scenes' work in making this forum run smoothly. Many people have no idea how much time they put into it...and in the end that's probably a good thing :)

From time to time they don their tin hats and wade in to clear something up. I for one don't know what we'd do without them.

So...HUZZAH TO THE MODS!!

Pat, David, Scott and Brad, who was an active moderator when I joined.

Your work is essential for a smooth running and pleasant forum.
And your work is very much appreciated.

With the 10th anniversary celebration right now, it is a good time for a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you :salute::

And thanks to the sponsors of this forum, Shannon and Pete, to honor your many, many hours of voluntary work with a memorable gift {bravo}}

Kudos to all of you and keep up the good work!

Konrad

Hi Shannon,

I am truly humbled by your thoughtfulness. I know each of us who serve as moderators do so for the love of the hobby, for the appreciation of the forum experience, and to show our support for all the efforts you and Pete make to enrich our hobby experience. In short, no gift is expected and no gift is necessary. However, since I am receiving one of these wonderful statues, I intend to display it with pride in a prominent location in my display room. Your thoughtfulness, your gift, and, most of all, your friendship are very deeply appreciated. Thank you so very much.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Seeing as where all being so nice maybe i can get back on the FL section ^&grin^&grin^&grin
