Thank you all for the warm comments and I can assure you that more pictures will follow. The most recent "battle" was an attack on te village by British paras. It was fun putting the figures in scene and making use of the imagination.

JPB, I will send you a p.m. Visting won't be a problem. The foliage is not artificial: the maintenance of the garden takes several hours but I don't believe the owner (my best friend E.G.) is considering this job as "hard labour".

Dear Scott;

The streets are made from concrete; about 15 cm/6 inch thickness in the ground. When the concrete is still drying, some "slaves" have carved with screw drivers the "cobble stones". (this operation is only possible when enough Belgian bier is available for the crew!) The advantage is that you can carve the lines of cobblestones in a round pattern which is typical for Flanders. After a few bottles even an upgraded computernerd will become a cobblestone specialist!^&grin

I had to leave a larger plaster structure of an Altantic bunker outside due to storage problems. After a few months out in the elements, it looked even better with the ageing aspect. A village setting in the garden may shape up very well over a period of time if you are prepared to accept they will never be the same again, no doubt faded and brittle, but the weathering could be very interesting and make a very useful diorama setting. Robin.
