Outdoor wargaming with K&C (1 Viewer)

Eddy,

In my opinion this is one of the most amazing Diorama's that I have seen. Must have taken several hours to lay out everything for display !

My Hat off to you ............. Best of the best !

Amazing. So inspiring.

P.S. Perhaps only need to photoshop out the VW Minibus, which seems more 50s/60s-looking?

Rgds,Chris

Jesus! ^&confuse
We never had expected that storm of kind reactions.

Perhaps we are already used to this project that we don't realize anymore the unique character of this village. Indeed it is special when you realize that one man has built this for many years and that each building has an average production schedule for 6 up to 9 months. (the moulds of concrete have to dry for several weeks before further assembling) Especially the roofs, made from lead, are time consuming (100% handwork!)
Our next wargame meeting will be at the end of June. I will take more pictures.
I see that there are also trainfans amongst us. The railroad is made in European style (a lot of LGB material - gauge G 1/22,5 and also suitable for scale 1 (Märklin). Top of the bill are some live steam locs (radio controlled). I have here some pictures of a typical Germaan loc, built from scratch. Enjoy the landscape!

Also the railway is AMAZING......And what about putting toysoldiers on it? Maybe some flak and a tank transportation! {sm3} The platforms are perfect for it.

Forget the soldiers! Where are the trains?^&grin Michael

Dear Michael,

We have created our own Von Ryan's Express!

Hi Guys,

As I wrote when “Bricoleur” first posted his magnificent photos of those outdoor buildings and displays...”Simply Amazing!

Now when I see the trains and the railway viaduct I am “bowled-over”...This set up just gets better and better!

When I saw that viaduct and the train I kind of wanted to put in a couple of our Me 108 “Taifuns” repainted as 109’s attacking from above...Here’s a wee reminder of the “movie 109”...

Maybe it’s time to do “Von Ryan’s Express”...What d’ you think!?!

Best wishes and happy collecting.

It would be awesome if you did Von Ryan’s Express Andy but it would be a bloody big dio as there were quite a few carriages on that train and then you have that Jerry troop train as well! {eek3} If you do get Gordon to build it then please bring it to Oz next year! {sm3}

Truly amazing stuff, really love how you've used natural vegetation around the village and train tracks and the Castle is a stunner too!

You can certainly see where all the work has gone. Can't wait to see more, please don't stop posting more pic's.:salute::

Hi Guys,

Apologies for not adding the picture to yesterday's post on "Von Ryan's Express" movie "109"... Here it is... Better late than never.

Nice bird Andy and it pays to look further down a thread as I just noticed the village and the other pic's of the railway line, loco and rolling stock. Simply amazing Eddy and I bet it would look even more awesome to see it in the flesh.

Where can I visit this backyard?

I love the church!

Beautiful!

Also am a big fan of the trains.

Would be nice to have a Sainte Mere Eglise church with John Steele hanging on it. (The poor guy)

This is the coolest thing I've ever seen in this scale I think. I too want to wargame with 1/30th figures but it just takes up too much space. Well, problem solved I guess.

And I say coolest thing in this scale because there is a group that does a very similar thing but in 1/6th scale which is equally nuts, though I don't think they have a permanent outdoor village...

I can't believe the village can just sit outside in the elements and look the way it does. I'm wondering how much of the ground work is real foliage or is any of it model foliage? Really inspiring to show what can be done with time, patience, and a large back yard. I can hear my wife now, "you want to move the lawn chairs where because you're going to build WHAT?" :)

Thank you all for the warm comments and I can assure you that more pictures will follow. The most recent "battle" was an attack on te village by British paras. It was fun putting the figures in scene and making use of the imagination.

JPB, I will send you a p.m. Visting won't be a problem. The foliage is not artificial: the maintenance of the garden takes several hours but I don't believe the owner (my best friend E.G.) is considering this job as "hard labour".
