Jug Pilot (1 Viewer)

What a mighty machine . I love the B/W picture; it's just like a real photograph taken during the war
guy:)

Duke

Where did you get that great P-47? With Nose Art to boot!

Randy

Thanks Randy. The T-Bolt here is an old 21st Century 1/32 model that I did some customized weathering to. I've added another picture here, although the K&C pilot is too big for the 1/32 model, I still like the look of the two together. The fact that the P-47 was the largest fighter of WWII makes the scale difference not too noticeable.

Thanks Guy.

Another beauty Duke and the painting and weathering you did on that bird is outstanding! I agree with Guy, the black and white pic looks historical and that pic and the last colour one you posted are my favourites.

Thanks Tom, glad to know which pics you like best. I don't normally do B&W pictures but agree with you and Guy about the historical look.

It's hard to deny the virtues of larger aircraft types when one tries to display a 1/32 model in close proximity to 1/30 figure sets. Another replica that works well is one that's been mentioned before, the F6F Hellcat. A couple of pics:

Again, the key to all this is having a replica of a large aircraft to begin with. Some smaller types, a '109 for instance, simply won't work with 60mm figures placed close by. A Spit or P-51 is less painful to look at when employed with 1/30 figures, but they are certainly not optimal for the application. In those cases, a dedicated 1/30 model is nearly always the best bet.

Agree Moe. Nice looking Hellcat in your photos.
