It's hard to deny the virtues of larger aircraft types when one tries to display a 1/32 model in close proximity to 1/30 figure sets. Another replica that works well is one that's been mentioned before, the F6F Hellcat. A couple of pics:
Again, the key to all this is having a replica of a large aircraft to begin with. Some smaller types, a '109 for instance, simply won't work with 60mm figures placed close by. A Spit or P-51 is less painful to look at when employed with 1/30 figures, but they are certainly not optimal for the application. In those cases, a dedicated 1/30 model is nearly always the best bet.
