2018 Baseball season (2 Viewers)

Nope, not when you spend 127.00 of that 163 Million on pitching....................
The ironic (and really messed up aspect) of all this money is even being as bad as some pitchers are, even a few years at minimum MLB salary is way more money than most of us ever see, and they are making way more than minimum. MLB 2018 minimum salary will be $545,000 a year. We should all have such minimums.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Evidently, Jeter always wanted to own a AAA baseball club.:rolleyes2: -- Al

If I were a Marlins fan, I’d be seething. It will be a mausoleum there in 2018, not that it isn’t already.

The Marlins ranked 20th in payroll with Stanton at $111,881,000.

How low do they want to go?

Yeah, that guy who goes to all the high profile games wearing the Marlins get up is going to be pissed.

Hey, they win the WS every century; 1997 and 2003 to be exact, so they've got 83 years or so to get their **** together.

And as they march towards that title in 2086 they will have the lowest payroll in baseball while playing in a completely taxpayer funded stadium.

The Marlins received did ok, but not great, for Ozuna. Sandy Alcantara is rated 9th in the Cards system and has potential as a starter and Magneuris Sierra is rated sixth. They also received two other prospects. A good return but not great.

Word is the Yanks resigned C.C. For one year. George must be thrilled, one more year of Sherman Klump references!🤩

I can think of a lot of words to describe my feelings towards what the MFY's are doing this off season; "thrilled" would be my 4,246th choice.

What would be your 4,245th choice?

A source that is pretty good regarding these sorts of things is reporting that the MFY's will trade Stanton next off season to the Dodgers, then sign Harper, OR. keep Stanton and still sign Harper.

Can you even imagine?

When it comes to the MFY's, yes, I can.

But hey, I called this, another of those 1996-2003 MFY runs.

Whatever, MFY's gonna MFY; when you have won a whopping ONE title in 17 years, this is the result, because afterall, we all know the MFY's feel entitled to a title every year and one title in 17 years is not acceptable, especially when the owners name is Steinbrenner; wouldn't Hal look great in the turret of a Tiger I rumbling through the canyon of heroes in the next MFY victory parade?

Sometimes ballyhooed decisions that seem great don't work out that way. In his last five seasons he's only played more than 130 games in a season twice. Moreover, the plan seems to have Judge and Stanton switching between RF and DH.

It looks like the Giants' pursuit of JD Martinez is slowing down. Last years season seems to be working against them as he and his reps do not think the Giants will be competitive next year. The new front runner to sign him is the Red Sox.

Great; if they sign him, between him, Ramirez, Moreland, their three young outfielders and Deverz and Boegarts at short all hitting 30 HR's each, they'll finish second in the AL to the MFY's and their total of 2,457 home runs.........................they remind me of the Gashouse Gorillas from that Bugs Bunny cartoon.

Great cartoon if that is the one with the hitters coming up in a Conga line, each one smashing the ball to the beat of the music. Can't remember for sure. ^&grin -- Al
