I recently finished painting these 4 figures that are based upon the final victory for the French at the Battle of Austerlitz on 2nd December 1805.

I had been given the 2 flag bearers many years ago by a local collector who had bought them from Berlin Zinnfiguren.

They were produced by Miniwelt, a German maker, but who then on-sold the mould to V.I.D. in the Ukraine.
On opening one of the boxes I found that both arms were missing, so they got put away for many years, until I noticed that VID was posting in the Forum.

Although balk flags came with both kits, I decided to use 2 engraved flags that were made by French maker MHSP as the were surplus and easier to paint :)

Here is a MHSP flag I painted in glossy for another collector.

Last year I contacted Dmitry and asked if he could supply the missing arms, which he offered to do, and after browsing his catalogues, I decided to add a few more figures to make a small diorama. I still have a pioneer and a drummer to add, and will show them in the New year, when they are assembled and painted, and later on a base.

I hope you like them, and if you want any more info ask Dmitry (via a PM) as to the costing, payment and range his has.

Great work John and a fitting tribute to this epic battle. Thanks for sharing your work.

Great painting John.

Over Christmas I have managed to finish another 3 figures to join the 4 below.

This time its a Sappeur Sergeant , Drummer Boy and a Grenadier carrying another Russian Standard captured in the Battle.

Note the different bases sizes .... the higher were by MiniWelt, the lower are newly cast figures from V.I.D. (thanks Dmitry) but all the same original make of figure.

Excellent painting John, personally I'm not doing much over the holidays.
