I'm loving my new Scorpions. Please excuse the back drop; I'm still working my studio.

Very nice. Just working on my own Roman display so yours is of particular interest to me. Robin.

Steve...
always loved the detail of your fort...
love the "Road Work" thread too...

All these brilliant Rome dio,s are getting me swayed into getting some, well done mate.

Very cool. Is that the TGM scorpion?

Is there a thread on how you made the fort?

pretty awesome Steve...
that probably cost you around $100 or so to make...
and you probably had a lot of fun creating it...
where you could of spent 5-10 times that much to buy one...
yours looks fantastic...
both inside and out!

Thank you, Mike. Yes, like you and others, I like to build and my money can't go towards both buildings, terrain etc. and figures. Two updated pictures.

Wow! That’s seriously cool. What inspired you? Did you use a blueprint or guide of some kind?

Well first of all, I love forts. I was reading when the Romans stopped from their days march, they would build a earthen rampart and add their carry-along stakes. if they continued to stay they would just keep reinforcing it. I've seen pictures of towers and palisades, so I just went from there. I did draw up a design to figure out sizing. Just a note; Romans liked building ditches at a 30 degree angle.

Love your fort Steve. Must be really satisfying to having built that and as Michael said at a fraction of the cost of a bought one. Like the mix of your barbarians and outside landscaping as well. Regards Greg.

Yep a great one off piece Steve that I think would sit nicely in any Museum ! :salute::

Absolutely brilliant work Steve! Your design and structural work is stellar. It's just awesome to look at over and over again. Thank you for sharing the photos and congratulations!

Joe

The alternative to building is owning one or part of these. Not as rewarding but very happy to have such a great piece. Greg.
