Deciding to separate from Pancho Villa's loyalists, a number of men migrated to the United States with hope of a new future. Traveling through the desert of the Southwest would prove to be an arduous task and not all would make it. Although their guns and bandoleers were most useful in skirmishes with Indians, the desolate land with lack of water was another matter.
