Things that I really like (1 Viewer)

My cousin called me the other day all torqued off over the Red Sox trading their best player, Devers, to the Giants for a bag of balls, two bats and an old catchers mitt. His wife is a huge RS fan, he is too, they have a partial season ticket package.

I told him to calm down and go for a walk.

I stopped following the Red Sox when it became crystal clear their ownership group does not give two ****s about winning, it's all about how much money they can squeeze out of that dump of a ballpark with all the pink hats who show up regardless of how the team is doing.

They traded away Betts, Sale and now Devers and got fleeced each time, all three were clearly salary dumps. They've made the playoffs once in the past 6 years, finished in last place three of those years.

They are a big market team but are run like they are the Royals, Rays or A's.

If they no longer care about winning, great; I'm out as a fan and I could care less how they do, I've got better things to do with my time in the Summer.

Good to see that the Stanley Cup is staying in the U-S-A yet another year. Florida dominated those last two games. Great to see those Edmonton fans standing outside their igloos while they choked away the series. Hard to believe but the last time a Canadian team won the Cup was 1993.
USA USA. Yup, agree, I am still pod about the boos on our National Anthem. Classless.

Looks like Elon Musk's DOGE was right about one thing. USAID - 4 Indictments/Guilty pleas now and counting. As a reminder, this was the big story by the free press of abuse by DOGE...............................Apparently, more to come. BTW, you will have to do a Google search to find the real news on this one, apparently this doesn't rise to NBC, CBS or ABC's level of reporting.................as I have said time and time again, if you don't think the press is "pressing" an agenda, you are very naive.

METV is back in my channel line up, found out the other day after being removed for some idiotic reason a year or so ago; so many great, old time shows, too many to list, just glad it's back.

They have the Honeymooners. Still funny today. Sadly they took out Gomer Pyle USMC.

I can watch some of those old shows like Hogan's Heroes and Andy Griffith over and over and never get tired of them. Svengoolie on Saturday night is a throwback to the old horror movie host of yesteryear. In contrast, I haven't watched a network TV sitcom in the last decade. Can't stand them.

I watched a 2 hour block of All in the Family tonight; Archie murders me, the way he mispronounces words kills me.............some great shows, takes me back to my youth, I remember looking forward to the Fall TV Guide preview of all my favorite shows...............like you, I don't watch network TV these days, not a single show.

I can watch All in the Family everyday and even though I have seen an episode 5 times I still laugh as much as the first time I saw it. One of my favorite episodes is when Sammy Davis Jr came to Archies house. But I think one of the funniest scenes is when Archie was alone in the house and locked himself in the basement. He called for help and then found a liquor bottle, drank it and passed out. When he woke up he thought he had died. And he then seen their was a black guy standing there ( he heard Archie and unlocked the door) Archie , thinking he was at the gates of heaven, seen the black guy standing there and Archie said "Forgive me Lord". I laugh just thinking about it.

Those were good. Another good one was when Archie went on TV to talk about preventing air hijacking. You pass out the guns to all the passengers when they board and collect the guns when they deplane. Problem solved. Case closed.

Florida and Mississippi carrying out executions of convicted murderers in the past 2 days.

The Mississippi convict was sentenced to death in 1976 and the Florida killer was given the same penalty in 1994.

Better late than never.

Friederich Fröbel founds the first KINDERGARTEN in the small town of Blankenburg/Thuringa.
His motto was:

Children are like flowers. You have to bend down to them if you want to recognize them.

The concept proofed to be successful and became exported worldwide.

Happy parenting.

Ohtani throwing a 102 MPH fastball. Not sure that I understand risking an injury by having him pitch an inning here and there but the guy has freakish talent. Betts and Freeman have struggled this year but Ohtani has kept the Dodgers rolling with his bat.
