Turning 60. When I turned 50 it seemed more traumatic. At 50 I suddenly felt old with a lot of windows in life closing. 60 feels more like a transitional stage to retirement. Not everything is up to me anymore. Kids are older. Time for other people to take on some of that responsibility. Starting to lean into whatever is left. All that worrying is a thing of the past even though difficult times are always coming.

.......I couldn't imagine being 50 when I was in my teens, let alone being 60. At 59yrs I feel privileged to have survived this long, especially given the 'near-misses' as a police officer and now attending ever increasing funerals of family and friends.

In a sense we're all 'veterans' of life and have much to offer the younger generation, if only they were willing to listen? (some do).

I like to 'smile & wave' and take the piss out of the idiots, of which there are many.

You're right of course, 'lean into the wind' and grab what you can and appreciate what you've got, opposed to what you haven't.......

Yeah I would agree that turning 70 would be a major mile stone, I will be turning 67 in January next year which in Australia qualifies me for the Aged Pension, the extra money will be handy for travel etc.

Love it..........Not sure if its age related, however some days it certainly does feels like I have front row seats to the clown show at the circus.

If nothing else society never fails to entertain....

My limited knowledge of the new ebay rules suggests I would have to edit the postage exclusions for each listing, I presently have 87 for sale.

All of this reminds me of a Simpson’s episode.

Marge and Homer are lying in bed and Marge asks Homer if this is how he excepted life to be at this point.

Homer simply replies, “I don’t know, I never expected to live this long…..”.
 

Imagine that would not have been a home run in every MLB park, all but two.

They should play the little league world series in that clownshow of a stadium.
