Things that I really like (6 Viewers)

My brother visits. Like myself, he also runs his own business so has to be on point with his schedule. Even though I am 2.5 hours away, he and I are in constant communication on things that need to be done. He has stepped up over the years being the one sibling who stayed living in their area.
That’s awesome your brother has stepped up. So often it’s the daughter/s who end up carrying the biggest load when it comes to caring for elderly parents. It’s always great to hear when families pull together with these things.

"Primate." How could you improve upon a movie that rips off Cujo with a plot involving a rabies infected CGI chimp who chases a bunch of hot college girls around their daddy's mansion? It is genius. And the girls do a lot of crazy things that college girls might actually do. At one point they decide to tie a rope around the neck of the chimp. I'm no Jane Goodall, but if your chimp is showing signs of extreme agitation and foaming from the mouth, tying a noose around its neck likely doesn't rank among the list of best choices available at the moment. They also decide to jump in the pool under the questionable premise that chimps can't swim. Not having an opportunity to confirm this spontaneous decision on wikipedia before making a life-or-death decision is a bold move.

Old Ben the chimp also does his part. He is not conforming to the Marquis of Queensbury boxing rules when throwing down on his victims. He is, as the philosopher Charlie Manson once said, "playing for real." His only guiding principle appears to be "monkey see, monkey kill." Another nice touch is that the dad in the movie is deaf. So when he comes home and his chimp is going berserk tearing his house guests to pieces, the Dad is in blissful ignorance making himself a snack. Is this movie the simian Citizen Kane? No, but I would watch it one hundred times out of a hundred over "One Battle After Another." In fact, if Old Ben were in that movie they would have to change to title to just "One Battle" because that's all there would have been sparing the audience many hours of their life. Watching Leo try to explain climate change to him before he goes beast mode would have made a better movie. It's also great that the chimp is named "Ben" like the rat from that famous movie who was denied his Academy Award for best actor due to Hollywood's prevailing bias against rodents. He was a method actor who turned to drugs and alcohol after his career came to an end. Another Hollywood tragedy.

"Nuremberg" is an excellent movie. Russell Crowe seemed like a strange choice to play Goring but he does a great job. The plot also provides different perspectives rather than presenting historical tropes.

Keeping things in perspective.

Last night I was texting with my brother who lives in Australia.

I complained about the recent ice cold storms that have reached into Texas this weekend.

He proceeded to tell me that it was 104 degrees in Melbourne yesterday.

I responded by telling him that he just won the weather misery index.

"The Smashing Machine", a movie about MMA fighter Mark Herr staring the Rock and Emily Blunt, gave it a watch last night.

I thought it was very good, the Rock was great in it, had a "The Wrestler"/Mickey Rourke vibe to it.

I guess it bombed at the box office, but again, I really enjoyed it.

The comment section on the Fox News website. They are vicious but often hilarious. There is currently a story about Mick Jagger's granddaughter's missing boyfriend who is an unusual looking character. Hopefully the guy turns up.

Rodney Dangerfield. No way to improve on him.

"I asked the cop how far it is to the subway, he said, 'I don't know. So far no one's ever made it'."
"I came from a real tough neighborhood. In the library the sign says “Shut the f..k up!”
"My father was nothing, he worked at a bank and got fired for stealing pens" "With sex my wife cut me down to one time a month but that's not so bad she cut some out altogether". I think the funniest comedian of all time.
