NFL 26-27 season (6 Viewers)

"Bubble" Vrabel is sinking in quicksand. All he had to say is that he screwed up and apologize. But he is trying to finesse his way out of this and making it worse every day. Sometimes the aftermath is worse than the act.
The main reason why this is such a "story" to begin with is because the news broke during a slow news cycle, had it broken during the season, it would be less of a "story", it's mainly a "story" for sports radio talk to fill air time, with the Celtics and Bruins both in the playoffs, you'd think that would be of interest here, but this "story" is all people want to talk about.

It’s kind of no one’s fvcking business if you ask me.

They are not elected officials.

They are not guarding classified material.

No crimes were committed.

Nationally, it's a "story" for one reason and one reason only; it involves the organization everyone loves to hate, the Patriots.

What do you propose the NFL or the Patriots do to Vrabel; put him up against a wall and have a firing squad finish him off?

If this same "story" involved the coach of the Panthers, Browns, Raiders, Vikings, Bengals, Colts, Cardinals, Bucs, Saints, Falcons, Redskins, Ravens, Dolphins, Chargers, Steelers, Bills, Texans, Titans, Giants, Eagles, Lions, Packers, Rams, 49ers, Seahawks, Cowboys, Bears, Broncos, Chiefs, Jags or Jets, no one would give sh@t.

I thought his statement was fine. He said he’s had some difficult conversations with his wife, team, etc. I don’t think he needs to go beyond that as it’s basically a private matter between him and his family. I’m sure he’s damaged the trust between him and his wife and hopefully they can rebuild it, if not for their sake, then for their childrens’ sake.

The bigger issue as you pointed out is the damage he's caused to his family; nothing else matters.

It was an idiotic thing to do as they are both high profile people in their respective professions; her career is in the toilet now, he'll continue to coach the Patriots and only people with an ax to grind or nothing else to talk about will continue to make it a "story."

I agree George...with 99% of what you are saying...

it's nobody's business what Vrabel did...
it doesn't affect the lives of the fans or public's eye one bit...none of their business...
it's not a felony...much less a crime...
the only reason it gets so much attention is because fans are jealous of the Patriot's success...
I concur with all that...

but when Jerry Jones did this...it was a red line banner story on every sports website...so...been there and done that too...

like Huey Lewis said..."Dirty Laundry"...

reminds me of those "Teen Beat" stories when I was a kid...
the story will fade away as boring in a few weeks at most...then be forgotten...and life goes on...
I don't find it pertinent to the NFL...I have already lost interest in it...

I'll never understand the whole cheating thing/side order/stepping out on your husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend.

If you are unhappy with your relationship, then break up/get a divorce, people want their cake and eat it too, I've never, ever cheated on a girlfriend of mine, if I'm unhappy, I break up with the person, it's not that complicated.

I'm disappointed with Vrabel, I'll never view the guy the same way again, life goes on, he ruined his life, she ruined hers and her career makes me no nevermind.

I don't see how either one of them stays married, once the trust is gone, that's it, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

The three most important things in a relationship; mutual trust, respect and support, you have to have all three or it won't work.

The bigger issue is not taking responsibility. Just say he screwed up. Instead he is all over the place. It's not the crime of the century but it is the unwillingness to accept responsibility that reflects poorly on him. He is not sorry that he did it. He is sorry that he got caught.

Yeah, you're right, he should have gotten up in front of the media and said "Ok, I did it, she's been my side order for 5 years, I never thought we'd get caught, but her SIMP of a husband busted us and hired some gumshoe to take pictures of us lounging by the pool and hugging before we left the resort, I hope all you newshawks can forgive me."

Never underestimate how far an apology can go with NFL fans, especially when it comes to “their” team.

Punch a woman in the face? Kick a woman when she is in a puddle on the ground? Knock a woman unconscious and drag her body out of an elevator? Fund a dog fighting network with first hand knowledge of the atrocities related to it all? Rant and promote racist and anti-Semitic troves?

Convicted or not, it is all good so long as you say sorry.

They hire PR people to give them bad advice. It never works. They just dig themselves in deeper and deeper. "Bubble" Vrabel is now pulling the old seeking counseling trick. Making him appear to be the victim of someone else's conduct. He has no regrets about his conduct. That is the person that he is for good or ill. This damage control is a complete fraud to stop the bleeding. He should just admit that he did it, enjoyed it, and would do it again if he got the chance. And if people don't like it, they can stuff it. At least that would be honest. Getting caught is what he regrets.

I know I'm going to regret asking this, but how did he go from "First Round" Vrabel to "Bubble" Vrabel?

All I can think of is you can't call him "First Round" anymore as he got to a SB (and also to the 2020 AFCCG), so new derogatory nickname is now required.

He is "First Round" Mike and "Bubble" Vrabel. The latter rhymes - sort of. Imagine those counseling sessions where Bubbles tries to learn why he can't frolic with women in the hot tub. He emerges more Gomer Pyle than Tony Soprano. A new man with so many wild card games to lose in his future.

In all seriousness, what’s the point in missing Day 3 of the draft for counseling? Seems weirdly performative. Just do the counseling quietly after the draft. Making it public and making sure the public knows you’re taking time away from the team and draft to do it is pointless unless you’re specifically looking to make sure people know you’re doing “the right thing.”

I think there's more to the story here and another shoe is yet to drop.

Vrabel is either going to step down/take time away to be with his family...........or he's going to get fired.

You heard it here first.

Just once I’d like a team to stand up to a player who wants to renegotiate a contract that has 4 years left.

Let them sit out for 3-4 years, even if they collect $10 mil.

They might get some money but they will lose their relevance and skills by the time they come back.
Steelers did that to Bell. End of day neither won though!

"I've come to the difficult decision that at this time, I need to do what's best for myself and my family, I need to step away from the game I love, the job I love and the team I love in order to be with my family, whom I love more than anything else."

He's 1000% going to step down, either on his own, or his wife or Kraft forces him to.

More pictures are coming out going back to 2020, two absolute morons.

Imagine having a side order going for 6 years, his wife must be livid and who can blame her.

This story is getting more attention on this forum than it is on the Sport’s networks… infidelity in relationships happens 10,000 times a day in America… I just don’t see the interest in it…

"Patriot haters everywhere unite"...................there really should be an official "Patriot haters club", I can think of two people, one in particular who could be president.

And to your point, if this was the coach of the Browns, no one would give a sh@t.

Vrabel should be most upset about that fact that he's been stirring McVay's porridge; when McVay was in Washington, he was a WR coach and he was tapping both Russini and Britt McHenry. They both found out on a drunken night out and got into a fight in a Chili’s parking lot. The USA Today reporter who got fired (Froy I think?) referenced it in her tweet storm about Russini sleeping for scoops.

I'll take McVay 100 times out of a 100 over "First Round." Maybe he can turn his "counseling" sessions into a reality show if he gets canned. I would pay to hear him engage with a therapist about these romps and see the light when he gets religion. The only lesson he has learned is don't get caught. He is like an injured rhino on Mutual of Omaha.

Turning away from "Jacuzzi" Mike, the NFL draft hype is beyond ridiculous. I give them credit for promoting this nonevent, but you can wake up tomorrow morning and read the results in three seconds that will take the entire night to unfold. The fools that dress up to attend this event have too much time on their hands or are former "No King's" protestors getting paid to attend. Not sure which is worse.

McVay drafted that stiff QB from Alabama tonight, a complete head scratcher of a pick.

They are on the doorstep of getting to a SB in 2026, why not draft a player that can fill a need, like for example in that swiss cheese of a secondary that Sam "Good for you you complete stiff, you won a SB" Darnold shredded in the NFCCG.

Maybe 97 year old Stafford is on his last legs, he won the MVP this year, so what gives.

Again, a complete head scratcher of a pick.
