NFL 26-27 season (1 Viewer)

"Bubble" Vrabel is sinking in quicksand. All he had to say is that he screwed up and apologize. But he is trying to finesse his way out of this and making it worse every day. Sometimes the aftermath is worse than the act.
The main reason why this is such a "story" to begin with is because the news broke during a slow news cycle, had it broken during the season, it would be less of a "story", it's mainly a "story" for sports radio talk to fill air time, with the Celtics and Bruins both in the playoffs, you'd think that would be of interest here, but this "story" is all people want to talk about.

It’s kind of no one’s fvcking business if you ask me.

They are not elected officials.

They are not guarding classified material.

No crimes were committed.

Nationally, it's a "story" for one reason and one reason only; it involves the organization everyone loves to hate, the Patriots.

What do you propose the NFL or the Patriots do to Vrabel; put him up against a wall and have a firing squad finish him off?

If this same "story" involved the coach of the Panthers, Browns, Raiders, Vikings, Bengals, Colts, Cardinals, Bucs, Saints, Falcons, Redskins, Ravens, Dolphins, Chargers, Steelers, Bills, Texans, Titans, Giants, Eagles, Lions, Packers, Rams, 49ers, Seahawks, Cowboys, Bears, Broncos, Chiefs, Jags or Jets, no one would give sh@t.

I thought his statement was fine. He said he’s had some difficult conversations with his wife, team, etc. I don’t think he needs to go beyond that as it’s basically a private matter between him and his family. I’m sure he’s damaged the trust between him and his wife and hopefully they can rebuild it, if not for their sake, then for their childrens’ sake.

The bigger issue as you pointed out is the damage he's caused to his family; nothing else matters.

It was an idiotic thing to do as they are both high profile people in their respective professions; her career is in the toilet now, he'll continue to coach the Patriots and only people with an ax to grind or nothing else to talk about will continue to make it a "story."

I agree George...with 99% of what you are saying...

it's nobody's business what Vrabel did...
it doesn't affect the lives of the fans or public's eye one bit...none of their business...
it's not a felony...much less a crime...
the only reason it gets so much attention is because fans are jealous of the Patriot's success...
I concur with all that...

but when Jerry Jones did this...it was a red line banner story on every sports website...so...been there and done that too...

like Huey Lewis said..."Dirty Laundry"...

reminds me of those "Teen Beat" stories when I was a kid...
the story will fade away as boring in a few weeks at most...then be forgotten...and life goes on...
I don't find it pertinent to the NFL...I have already lost interest in it...

I'll never understand the whole cheating thing/side order/stepping out on your husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend.

If you are unhappy with your relationship, then break up/get a divorce, people want their cake and eat it too, I've never, ever cheated on a girlfriend of mine, if I'm unhappy, I break up with the person, it's not that complicated.

I'm disappointed with Vrabel, I'll never view the guy the same way again, life goes on, he ruined his life, she ruined hers and her career makes me no nevermind.

I don't see how either one of them stays married, once the trust is gone, that's it, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

The three most important things in a relationship; mutual trust, respect and support, you have to have all three or it won't work.
