The aroma of coffee boiling in a tin pot over a campfire was always a welcome spot for soldiers to gather during the tedium of camp life. Tin cup coffee, tobacco, and good company . . . sometimes the best army life could offer.

I really liked this arrangement so I decided to offer two views. Pictured are: WB #31070, "A Cup of Coffee - Two Federal Infantrymen At The Campfire", Conte ROC005, "Federal Infantry Bugler" from the Keith Rocco series, WB #31147, " Federal Infantry Officer Standing Wearing Sack Coat w/Pipe", WB #31146, "Federal Captain of Infantry Wearing Sack Coat w/Cigar". The backdrop is WB Mini Backdrop #51083, "Split Rail Fence", and the base is a Hudson & Allen Scenics-To-Go item.

Love camp life dioramas Mike. Funny how Coffee always takes on it's own distinct flavour from a metal Canteen Cup.

We love a good ACW camp scene. If you've ever been to a reenactment, you spend a lot of time there to soak up the ambiance.
Great scene yet again.
Paddy & Pat Sr

Thanks Paddy & Pat. Have I ever been to a Civil War reenactment? LOL more than I can count. Back in the day, 25-30 years ago, I was very active in the ACW reenacting hobby. Here's a pic of my CSA persona . . .

A distinct flavor is describing it mildly.

Plus the way they boiled it - may have been disgusting to modern tastes...

Carried my tin cup strapped to my haversack. Always had a cloth bag of coffee beans in my haversack as well. Usually crushed/ground the beans right in the cup with my tampion (rifle muzzle plug) that had a brass end cap. Then I'd boil the pi$$ out of it. Strained the bean debris with my teeth as I drank it. 😉

Very nice camp scene, Mike! I've noticed you've been making several W. Britain dios recently. You getting back into their figures more?

Thank you Cameron. A short time ago I decided to collect some of the WB Village Green figures for a display I'm working on. Most recently I purchased 5 of the mini backdrops now offered by WB. I've posted quick vignettes using all 5 backdrops and existing figures in my collection. I have also decided to collect some of the new WB AWI/Clash of Empires British 43rd Regiment of Foot. These well done figures have really grabbed my attention.

They do look like nice figures from the photos I've seen. I suspect there will be a lot of Rev. War figures produced by companies in the years ahead with the 250th anniversary approaching. John Jenkins has been pouring them out recently. You haven't gotten into any of those have you?

I haven't collected any of the JJD AWI figures. I have been selectively collecting the WB AWI Clash of Empires figures.
