Things that are amazing that we don't own!

Thanks Alex, I'll be sure to ask that they indeed pin parts. One (rather expensive) 90mm figure was described to me as being reinforced on the inside with special nails. I'm not exactly sure what this means and there may have been something lost in translation. Does anyone happen to know more...

    Imperial Rome

I too would love to see them do a chariot or war elephant. It's the type of thing, with their Russian sculptors and eye for detail, that FL would excel at!

First Legion General Edouard de Colbert

Interesting, because at this price or thereabouts you could buy the kit and have it painted in Russia (even FL will do it for you if you ask). You would then have a version that is of better quality than the production pieces though of course it wouldn't be one of the original releases and...

Wow, AeroArt figures in formation, pretty extravagant stuff :) They are an impressive looking bunch.

Things that are amazing that we don't own!

These threads are turning into a treasure trove of information for new collectors like myself. Lets face it, at these prices learning about connoisseur figures "the hard way" can be a pretty brutal way to proceed. A timely comment for me as I was thinking of taking this route (ie commissioning...

    Russian figures price hike

That's sad news as any further increase, and a 50% one at that, would likely force me to move on as well. Maybe it's time to start collecting those replica Faberge Eggs {sm5} I sometimes wonder if some of these Russian painters live in an alternate universe :)

    Dio " Mon Beau Légionnaire"

I really like vignettes as they allow for extraordinary detail and realism. I got a book showcasing Per Olav Lund (World of Dioramas) last year and haven't looked at dioramas the same since (not that I can do any myself I should make clear). Your small diorama looks exquisite to me. The...

    New TGM WW1 German aircraft?

That is a substantial investment and very good news for collectors, the problem (for me at least) is that there will be 20 types which averages out to just 10 aircraft per type (maybe less if there are different color schemes as well). It's great to have the choice of 20 types but as a consumer...

    New TGM WW1 German aircraft?

Actually there appear to be 15 of them, and this time all 15 aircraft have the same color scheme so it will be interesting to see if this allows for sales at a rate that is a little more "consumer-friendly".

    Aussies...JJD v K&C WW1

Most of my AeroArt figures are medieval (knights and samurai) but for some reason I really like the WW1 personalities as well, I think it must be the fuddy-duddy uniforms many of them have. :)

    New TGM WW1 German aircraft?

So how many of each Gunn release would Aikens Airplanes be buying? I assume its likely to be more than one (it would seem like a lot of effort in order to sell just one of each plane). But even if its only two, weren't there just, for example, seven of each Eindecker to begin with??? Most of...

What Toy Soldier items Have You Acquired in The Last 2 Weeks ?

For what it's worth, the Type 89 is on Amazon Japan for 4338 yen. Not sure if they will ship overseas but it gives you an idea of what the actual price should be.

Your 3 best FFL sculpts to date...

There clearly seems to be a demand for such a "beast of burden" but IMO it was the exceptional quality of the sculpt (which captured the interaction of the stubborn mule with the Legionaire) that made this set really stand out (it's the first TG figure I've ever bought and certainly won't be the...

    NOR047 US M4 75mm Sherman Tank - 2nd Armored Division

I don't collect AFVs but sooner or later I will likely pick up a few of the most iconic vehicles. However, if I do buy this tank the figure would be useless to me as well - surely not an inconsequential factor at this price point. Kudos to FL for continuing to try new things, but surely a...

    Pirated Castings

I can perhaps understand the exchange rate changes taking a while to filter through a company like AeroArt (I emphasize perhaps), but for shops in Russia dealing directly with customers in the US and elsewhere, I have trouble seeing an excuse for not adjusting prices given the huge currency...

    Pirated Castings

The Black Prince at Crecy is in fact a small diorama consisting of three figures and a horse (in 54mm). Your average Andrea figure seems to be US$20 to $30. Obviously it's much more for a mounted figure or 90mm figure, and for a 90mm mounted figure.....look out!!
