    Redcoats Displays

I've always hoped that they'd add more cavalry, especially from the Seven Years War. A British dragoon, light dragoon (like the 15th LD), and Horse Guard would be nice, and a French heavy, a dragoon, and a hussar. There are figures from other brands for those subjects, but it would be nice to...

The Tradition kits are really good ones, too. Nicely sculpted and crisply cast, and they paint up well. Prost! Brad

    Monarch Miniatures Roman Civilians

Hi, Bob! You might want to have a look at Foggy Bottom Miniatures. He is located in New York, but sells through shows here in the East Coast, and through his eBay store...

    Redcoats Displays

Nice displays, Andreas! I like the 1st Foot Guard especially. I snap those up when I can, for my Seven Years War collection. The hatmen are particularly hard to find. But I'm working towards a company each of musketeers and grenadiers, and as many fifes and drums, and colors, as I can amass...

    Toy Soldier Identification

Hi, Brad! Art replied that the camels are definitely from Mike and depict the Bikaner Camel Corps. As for the cavalrymen and foot figures, he believes they are Mike's, too, but not completely certain. But along with Tom's ID, I think that's pretty good for an ID. Hope that helps! Prost! Brad

    Toy Soldier Identification

That could be. I can ask among my fellow MFCA members. I remember that there were some of Mike's toy soldiers up on eBay within the past year or so, and I didn't know he had made them. I asked Art Etchells, who confirmed it. I'll ask him. If you have seen my collection of the Kaiser's Army...

    MLB 2025

Romano sucks. That's twice now that he's given up runs and threatened a lead. Ray Romano would pitch better than Jordan. Sanchez ("Gooney goo-goo!") had a good start, though. It was fun to have switched over from the MLB channel where they were gushing about LA, to see Sanchez fan Ohtani 3...

    Toy Soldier Identification

Are they hollowcast or solid, Brad? I think the camel riders depict troopers of the Bikaner Camel Corps. Prost! Other Brad

    MLB 2025

Should have been 3-1, but Romano choked in a rough relief outing.

A big advantage to using a host is not having to worry about the specific parameters of any given forum we belong to. Prost! Brad

    Help requested please ...

I thought of Fusilier, but a look through their online catalog didn't tun up any WWI Germans with gasmasks, in any pose. Neither has Tommy Atkins, nor Tradition. Sorry! Prost! Brad

    A small 18th to 20th century barn

You should paint a version with a Mail Pouch chewing tobacco ad on it, Ken. Prost! Brad

    Things that annoy me

They promise their constituents things they want, tell them things they want to hear. Very often, that includes telling their constituents that Someone Else is responsible for the life they find themselves in. They aren't responsible themselves. That is hard for many to resist, human nature...

Any Quartermaster Corps aficionados on here?

I have some printed catalog sheets, so I can see whether those figures are in them. Hoegermeyer had a number of figures without bases, like those crawling and wounded figures, and they didn't have markings. Prost! Brad

The West Coast Toy Soldier Show - Who is attending the show?

Thanks for posting your photos, Julie! In the first pictures in the album, there are some classic toy soldiers on display. I thought I saw a nice collection of Vertunni figures in the one photo. Those are a treasure! Prost! Brad

    Before the Battle, 1756-63

Nice diorama, Bob! This is right up my alley. For anyone who might consider visiting the MFCA show in May, this is exactly the kind of piece that would fit well in our Toy Soldier category. I'll second the recommendation on Bleckwenn's cassette on Frederick's army, too. I hunted for it for...

    Things that annoy me

A deeper problem that needs to be resolved, but is not likely to be, is the use of executive orders to implement policies that really should be implemented through legislation. I don't care who is in the Oval Office-it's a bad idea. But Congress has increasingly abdicated its role and...

    Things that annoy me

What do any of you expect in 6 six weeks? An end to inflation? It'll take at least 6 months but more likely a year for new policies' effect to be felt. Illegal immigration-did anyone expect millions of people to be rounded up and shipped out of the country in 6 weeks? On any other issue? Even...

    Who made these castings?

Looking closely at your photo, I see on the right-hand page, bottom row, second from the left, a Prussian officer from the Seven Years War. In the Tradition catalog, that's a portrait figure of Frederick the Great's brother, Prince Henry. Of course, he can be painted as an officer from a...

    Who made these castings?

Sure thing, John, glad to help! I still haven't found the connection between Bussler and Stadden/Tradition, apart from the fact that he sold these. That is, I'd like to learn if he sold them under some agreement, or if he copied them, or something similar. Bussler made his own figures, of...
