    Time Begins On Opening Day

I won't argue it was a horrible call but it doesn't explain getting rocked 11-0 the next game with your ace on the mound. :) I was 14 at the time and the most vivid memory to me was Joaquin Andujar melting down. My dad looked at me and said if I ever threw a fit like that when it wasn't...

    Time Begins On Opening Day

I'm sure it will but that is life for a Royals fan these days. I still love my team and act like a kid again when I run into the figures of the glory days of Royals' baseball - George Brett, Frank White - and love the glow on my son's face when he meets Alex Gordon or Mark Teahen. We love our...

    Time Begins On Opening Day

I could go for your prediction, Brad. I am a KC Royals fan first and foremost - we took out Detroit today, who knew? - but I've been a Red Sox fan since I was 9 years old as they were the only other team that hated the Yankees as much as the Royals. My Boys in Blue have some great history with...

    Final Four Picks

It ought to be a great Final Four. I'm a bit of a homer in that I am a Jayhawk since birth but I am also a big fan of all of the old Big 8 teams since it was in its heyday when I was growing up. I really, really like OU - it started back when KU was horrible in football and Brian Bosworth...

    Figarti Panzer IV

I am just dipping my toe in the WWII world but I've been thinking about adding this one - is it out? TF shows it as April pre-order. I may pull the trigger anyway as this will run off the shelves and it is a stunning piece.

    Future Value Of Your Collection?

I agree with many of you on how to grow the hobby. I have given my boys (the 6 year old has been more into than the 3 year old, of course, but he does show interest) most of my old army men save a few of the nicer Matchbox and Airfix plastics. I reserve these for when I play with the boys or...

    Final Four Picks

So, since it is 50/50 are you watching or skipping? :D Just kidding, my friend - but I had to ask! Eric

    Final Four Picks

I'm glad everyone keeps discounting my team - after all we are a bunch of scrubs! ;) Roy vs the school that hired him as an unknown and let him unleash his intellect - I hope he is crying by half time about his "kids." Been there - done that and I love my Self. Respect to "ol' Roy" - as we...

"Ding Hao" to the Reuss Family

True, true - but imagine the experience you are all about to have and it will "fly" right by before you know it. It is fantastic your son gets to go with you - trip of a lifetime. Best wishes- Eric

    Final Four Picks

I still have all four of my FF in the running but Louisville isn't looking like they'll be joining the party if they don't pour it on in the second half.

    Connoisseur Figures

Frank-- Thank you for your extensive response - you have enlightened me a great deal. The pieces are simply stunning. It may be a bit longer before I fully plunge into these figures but I think I'll start a special fund for my first so I can get it a bit sooner! Thanks again for all of...

    spitfire for sale

Very interesting offering - if I didn't already have one I would consider it. Did I mention the one I had was 1/48 scale? :D In my dreams, in my dreams.

    New Command Car

I hope not because I plan to claim my recent foray into WW II was a limited lapse in judgement! :D

    End Game for collectors

So, John - are you demonstrating the look your wife was giving you in the last picture. :D I haven't built models in years but everytime I see a Tamiya kit I get the itch. Fortunately, I was never any good at building them so I know it would be a waste of a perfectly good kit.

    Connoisseur Figures

Thank you, Combat. I agree as to the expense. I doubt I'll ever buy more than a few a year but they are very striking and beautiful. My wife is impressed with my K&C figures so I can only imagine what she will think when I make my first Conn purchase - I'll really use the "it is art" angle on...

I came to this forum as a AWI/Napoleonic Collector and got brainwashed into WWII

While I have over 200 diecast WW II aircraft/armor pieces I came to this forum as a Napoleonic/Crusader collector. I held off longer than any of my buddies would have guessed but in the end I couldn't resist WW II. I can't wait for the Hummel and BB figures to arrive.... :D

    Connoisseur Figures

Hello all: I have read with interest and enjoyment your comments and photos of the connoisseur figures - they are beautiful and impressive. As a new collector could you give me a it of a synopsis of the companies that produce these figures and a general idea of who excels at what era/style...

Now you've gone and done it!

Tis a sad collection of weak willed men - but we do enjoy it. I am reconfiguring my office to make room for the new items. Funny, I thought moving to figures would give me more space but it didn't work out. :D

Now you've gone and done it!

I have the sneaking suspicion that the Scots Greys are on the way out as well. I ordered another two the other day which only leave two to go and I hope the trend of falling/dead cavalry selling slowly continues so I can pick it up in a few months. So many goodies to choose from but summer is...
