I think this is the best Panzer IV H since the Figarti release. The version sans markings is excellent for those of us that like to customize our models for specific battles. I love that it comes with a figure; memories of the good old days when art trumped price!
IMO JJD Panzers are the equal in every way of Figarti Panzers in terms of quality and detail and exceed higher priced Panzers in accuracy. The Stug III and Jagdpanther are superb examples of 1/30 scale Panzers. I only wish they would release more examples! A Kingtiger in the JJD standard of...
FOV Shermans and M26's are decent models. Frontline and WB US infantry figures will work with them.
I agree with Hunter that the TCS Sherman's are quite well done and are very economical.
My favorite Shermans are not 1/30. I have an Armor 1/25 diecast metal M4A3E8 76mm and a 1/16 Tamiya...
Y-weidos description on Ebay states the barrel is Aluminum and moves up and down. The K&C Jagdtiger is larger and the barrel is fixed.
Plus the ED Jagdtiger comes with eight tracks that fit onto the hull sides and it has a rear deck MG.
The M26 was late to the war; but defeated several Tiger I's in Germany. The M26 showed its capabilities best in Korea, destroying many T34-86's. The design was sound and was improved in the M48 and M60. The line was finally replaced by the M1 in 1980, 35 years after its combat debut.
I have the ED King Tiger. The hull of the KT would probably be used for the Jagdtiger. The ED KT dimensions are: hull width 126mm, hull length 243mm. Close to an accutate 1/30 scale. The ED KT displays well with my Figarti Panzer collection and a variety of 60mm figures; W.Britains, Kronprinze etc.
I just received my TGM Panzer IV H from Treefrog Treasures. I am impressed with the level of detail and the quality.
The camouflage colors are correct; yet understated. TGM has equaled or exceeded the excellent Figarti Panzer IV IMO.
Great comparison photos Tom! the K&C is larger than 1/30. The TGM sprockets and idlers are far superior to the K&C Panzer IV H. I really prefer the TGM lack of weathering as I like doing my own or having a pristine model for display. TGM affords this option and the version without insignia is...
Four manufacturers currently make 1/30 scale Panzer IV H models with varying features and price points; First Legion, King and Country, Thomas Gunn and War Park. The PZ IV H versions with Tricolor Camouflage will be used for comparison evaluation.
Which manufacturer makes the best example in...
