Hi Roy,
Thanks for your excellent photos of Saturday's show. Just wondering if you took any shots of Alexander's Toy Soldiers tables. Really interested to see any new mounted Napoleonic cavalry that they might have showcased.
Thanks again for your excellent coverage.
All the best

I too am unable to make this show due to holiday commitments straight afterwards which has meant no budget allowance for figures this time around.😥 . Also with the likes of Jeff, Martyn and Bob also not being able to attend the gathering at the pub might be a bit on the thin size.Hopefully...
Re: Farmyard Vignette
Continuing with my rural civilian themed part of my collection I received this week from Nik Biberovic at Alexander's Toy Soldiers a small but beautifully formed vignette that shows a couple of Victorian farm labourers watering their horses /ponies at the end of another...
Hi Old Bill,
Any idea what company makes the display cabinets and boxes in this batch of photos. Any information you might have would be helpful as I need to acquire a display case/boxes to fit into very limited space.
Many thanks
Martin aka acw cavalry
Great addition to your collection Zac.
I was aware of the scene being developed following conversations with John F. This I think was probably some of the last figures he painted before hanging up his brushes. Can I ask did he also, paint the food accessories. When two of the best in the hobby...
Hi,
Yes they are very much still trading and had their usual number of tables at the June Show. Showcased some very nice mounted hunting figures to which they will be adding more to over the coming months. I think they will form part of the Lt. Modeling range of figures which depicts rural life...
Hi Martin,
The castings of hounds with the HM of GB lady hunt follower were sourced from Nik at ATS and he was pretty sure that they had been produced originally by Britains.
Of course they could be HM figures, but they don't look big enough and are of a slightly different sculpting style to...
Firstly thanks to my good friend John (Obee) for helping out with the uploading of the photos. Secondly the hunt scene is in fact the Stirrup Cup Set that John has mentioned as being in the pipeline. I was pleasantly surprised to receive these photos from Nik yesterday and an email to say that...
It's with great sadness that I have to inform the tree frog community of the passing of Alan Caton aka Trooper. Alan passed away suddenly in the early hours of yesterday morning having complained of feeling unwell. An ambulance was called but unfortunately by the time that it arrived Alan had...
What about Libbie Custer? The BMSS used to stock a vignette of her riding side saddle with George on his way to the Little Big Horn. Not sure if you can still get hold of these particular figures anymore already painted as the Range of Figures available from the Society have been reduced over...
Thanks Martin for the clarification and for the information with regard to the Household Cavalry and how they got the shine on the hooves regardless of their colour. For your information I am the collector that John Firth put together and painted the race horse figures for which he showcased on...
Excellent additions to the Heritage range. I think that the horses that Heritage produce are some of the best around in the hobby, but wouldn't horses with white socks have brown or lighter coloured hooves rather than all black ones. This doesn't however detract from what is yet...
Not able to make it tomorrow, so will have to get my fix from the excellent photos from those that always give such great coverage to the London shows. Will look forward to viewing their efforts over the course of the weekend. A polite request for coverage of the UK gloss cottage makers - ATS...
Cheers Gazza, :)
I think that is more direct than the route that I suggested. Don't mind the walk if it is 15 - 20 minutes as you suggest as it is no further than when the show was at the National Hotel when I used to walk up from the Holborn tube station on a regular basis.
Best Wishes
acw...
Thanks graycap.
The journey by bus to the BDC appears to be fairly easy, but the journey back seems to be very complicated. Going to kings cross on the Piccadilly Line means a slightly longer walk but I don't think it is much further than the Angel from the venue. If it wasn't for the fact that...
Hi graycap,
Thanks for the heads up. Just had a look at the planned works for Saturday on the Tube and if you are coming into Liverpool Street by train and don't fancy the bus or like me you don't know London very well I think you can always take the Central Line to Holborn and then the...
Hi Kit,
I am certain that the horse is definitely an Alan Caton creation, but I think it might be from the Yeomanry Miniatures stable. I am also pretty sure that the rider is the ATS Paul Revere figure from their AWI range. however, unlike here the ATS version is depicted on a galloping mount...
Thanks for the information. Do you happen to know if these figures are still commercially available either as castings or painted figures as I cannot find a website for Minimen of Ohio or a stockist of their figures.

Really great photos. I especially like the photo of the US cavalry patrol and background display. Any idea as to who made these particular figures? The mounted India cavalry figure is also a very nice figure indeed.
