Hi Guys,
While working on our upcoming ALL-METAL SHERMAN M4 I had this idea to create a little ‘LIBERATION’ scene with one of my favourite K&C Shermans (the ‘Oddball’ version) together with a few of our future French Civilians.
Hope you like it and… have a great weekend!
Andy

P.S. Once more, special thanks go to my friend Tom Dubel who helped make the 'Oddball' Sherman possible.

Yes great little scene you've created there Andy. :salute::

Hi Andy! Any plans for producing British and Americans soldiers in the Italian Campaign?

And Australians and french "goumiers"...

Speaking of the Italian campaign I don't understand why the numerous Australian collectors here never talk about the battle of Montecassino where they fought hard in the numerous and bloody assaults on the Monte and the surrounding hills... Much more important in my opinion than the unknown to the world (a part for them) Battle of Beersheba of the First world War. Mystery.{sm2}{sm2}

Australians didn’t fight at Monte Cassino; New Zealanders did.

The sentence that I’ve bolded doesn’t make any sense. I will chalk it up to language differences.

how about some polish troops for monte casino

I was in Monte Cassino two weeks ago...visited the British and Commonwealth Cemetery after reading "Strick" the story of a great British tank commander who came from the ranks and at the end of the war was Brigadier! He fought in the North Irish Hores Regiment , a Churchill tanks outifit and commanded also other regiments. In an action on 23rd may the NIH broke the Hitler Line, just above Cassino. They lost by the way a lot of tanks and good men. I visited them and prayed on their tombs, they are all together, the tombs near one another, very poignant. I was in Massa Albaneta where the NZ tanks with some US ones tried to go around and take the Abbey from the rear but where defeated. I was on the Cavendish Road from where these tanks came...Cassino is a strange place. My father was from a little hamlet near the place (Galluccio), it's very near where the 1st SSF (you remember "The Devil's Brigade" 60's movie?) covered itself in glory conquering Mount La Defensa. So i know the place very deeply, but it always surprise me. It's a very small place compared to other battles...but how many men died there? Thousands and thousands. Look more like a WWI battle to me. And you can find the debris of war...i found two american grenades shards. I think this 2023 or 2024 need some toy soldiers to remember those that were injustly called "D-Day Dodgers". The British Army who fought in Italy was markedly different from those who fought in Normandy or the Desert. I hope Andy will have some surprise...those guys in Cassino deserve to be represented...British , American, Indian, New Zealand, Canadian, Polish, French, also Italian...and German troops...

Since that line was delivered by General Colt, played by Carroll O'Connor, you should add a figure of him to this series.

Prost!
Brad

hello Andy, what do you mean when you say all metal, does it mean polystone or tin please? hoping the first...
best wishes, stay safe
Carlo

Hi Carlo,
To clarify… When I say ‘ALL-METAL’ I obviously don’t mean ‘Polystone’ which is a blend of marble dust and resin… I also don’t mean ‘Tin’ either.
Our recent ‘Winter Tiger’ and the upcoming ‘Kursk Tigers’ are super strong diecast zinc (virtually 95%) with some items in resin.
The K&C ‘Sherman M4’ follows the same material combination as the above ‘.

I hope that helps, best wishes,
Andy.

What do people think of the new French female and child figure? Will we get a Union Flag as well? I welcome the introduction of civilians over the last few years, they add to dioramas.

Andy and K&C have been adding quite a few civilian figures to their off shoot to the Ancient Egypt series with Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon et al and now also with the addition of the Death on the Nile figures as well as the Horror stories figures. Perhaps they will continue adding to their Dickens off shoot of fictional detectives with a few more such as Maigret, Miss Marple, Philip Marlowe, Sam Spade etc.

Gentle Friends,

A significant portion of this thread has been devoted to exchanging personal insults. Please keep your discussion related to the thread topic. Otherwise, greater action will be required.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

A lovely diorama showing a great thing the USA and its allies achieved. I don't see any controversy here. Classic K&C display, vehicle, men and background all great.

Yes, its always been a bit of a mystery to me why the Italian campaign hasn't attracted more attention from TS manufactures over the years.

However given Andy's exciting announcement of this new metal Sherman I'm sure he has plans to release other versions and maybe even one that would fit the battle for Italy or even the desert? :wink2:^&grin

nothing to do with the theme you are talking about except the question of civilians...
I take advantage of this discussion thread to suggest that K&C create new retired civilians from the Battle of France 1940 as well as civilians from the Berlin 38 theme..
It's been a very, very long time since anything new has appeared...
a shame because I'm sure many collectors would appreciate some new civilian characters.

I agree, i have all of the K & C civilians, which i want, think we could do with a few new ones, possibly some for the winter, Battle of the Bulge.

I guess you are referring to the Lighthorse series.
The series was released in 2009 and has been the most popular Toy Soldier series sold in Australia with many collecting the whole series. Plus also one where collectors buy to give as a gift.
Romans also sell well pretty well :salute::
