We were just talking about a 38T 3 weeks ago! This is amazing! It is a very nice and pleasant surprise. Being early war stuff, should this bear the white cross or the usual one as pictured? Anyway, I will definitely be getting one.

Here is a photo of a 38T in Russia in June 1941

Thanks! Any idea as to whether the 38T was ever used in Poland. Or were these mainly only Panzer I, II and some III?

Chris ,

The Pzkpfw 38t saw action in Poland , Norway , France , The Balkans & in Russia...

Hi Joe,

In this case, maybe we need reversible transfers so that we can have the white crosses used in Poland or the black crosses used in the later part of these early war campaigns. I am also happy if these 38t are going into WS instead of FOB or LAH. The FOB is becoming like miscellaneous experimental add-ons category for K&C, and the LAH is really parade domain. Having them in WS means we will see some more early war stuff. :) Thanks.

Chris ,

The 38t is going to fit right into WS , right where the grey 222 & Wehrmacht infantry are...The 38t as well as all german AFV's only used the white cross for & during the polish campaign...The 38t , K&C unveiled in this sneak peek would be ideal for france , norway , the balkans & russia as it is...It is quite a remarkable AFV & IMO is a must have for any WW2 collector especially for 1939-1942 diorama's , & i am really excited to hear that Andy is going to have three differently numbered tanks , which i am assuming will have different looking tank commanders , kind of like K&C did with the T-34...
I am sure there is some type of an easy solution for you if you want to display a white cross on your 38t...
I am also confident we will see more early war AFV's...

Looks like a nice piece and something that's definitely missing from my armour collection. Thanks for the sneek peek. ^&cool

Joe..

I think it does mean no more vids of the tank. What you can do is just post pics of the ones you buy instead!!

Mitch ,

I really almost couldn't believe it...I saw this thread started by K&C , so i clicked it...The title doesn't really give it away...I looked at the picture & was stunned !!
Andy did a fantastic job on this iconic AFV...Mitch does this mean i have to stop posting youtube video's & pic's of this tank now ?

Mitch ,

Ok , no more video's...Really like the fact Andy stated there will be three different numbered version's , i am assuming each will have a different commander figure unless the other two come with out one ?! The 38t will look great with a grey hanomag & 222...

Joe...

I think your right they will be a perfect match and will look good together. With your touch perhaps some vids and a bit of lobbying for a Sturmtiger and a steel wheel Tiger I should be your next project!!

Mitch ,

I know you have been lobbying for a Sturmtiger for some time now ! I saw one @ the Panzermuseum in Munster , Germany...A Sturmtiger & a steel wheeled Tiger I w/Zimmerit would both be Awesome AFV's...

Joe,

Maybe, we can lobby to Andy to have slightly different commander figure and accessory pack, and slightly different dents, or rust areas. I have the three T34s from the recent RA releases but felt that under closer observation, the rust / surface mud areas were all too alike, even though the markings were different. But, I know it is all a matter of cost for KnC. Hopefully, perhaps we can all strike a balance and have some visible difference in the three other than just numbers. I am in agreement with you on this.

Jason ,

I saw a Sturmtiger @ the museum... But for whatever reason the museum does not have a Tiger I on site...I've been there twice to date...Quite a large collection of AFV's on site...Me taking a pic with the 38t...

Joe...

I have been to a few of the European museums and seen some of these AFV's Sadly, I think the Sturmtiger will be one of those items that just never makes it off the want list

Mitch ,

It was a great experience at the panzermuseum the two times i went , although my wife said next time i have to go by myself...The Sturmtiger is a beast...I am sure we will see one from K&C...It is quite unique & that is what makes these military miniatures collectable & sought after...

It would be interesting to pair this up with the grey Tiger; in 2nd half '42 the 8th PzDiv still had the 38t in AG North which is where the first grey Tigers operated during the same time period. Don't know if they actually fought together, but still interesting. The 8th was the first counterattack force to try to break through to Velikiye Luki (the 38t's hit the proverbial brick wall)

Blowtorch ,

i looked up which divisions the 38t belonged to on the eastern front...

Operation Barbarossa with the German 6th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 19th, 20th, 22nd Panzer Divisions and Hungarian First Armored Field Division.
Eastern Front operations with the Romanian 2nd Tank Regiment...

That's before as you put it , the 38t hit the proverbial brick wall...Then as you know the germans turned the 38t into the Marder III , then later the Hetzer...So this K&C 38t will have alot of flexibility in diorama usage...From Poland to Russia with everything in between...
